Also loved Battle Born and I love this. I absolutely hate the first three songs on Wonderful, the rest of the album is mostly solid but definitely not special.

I love Battle Born, might be my favorite if theirs.
I actually enjoy “The Man”, but I wouldn’t say it’s too indicative of the album as whole sound wise. “Rut” and “Out of my Mind” are a couple of my favorites from that record.

I would say the Desired Effect (his second solo album) is totally worth the listen if you haven’t tried it out.

Yeah, this album slaps. Did I miss people talking about where this fits in their discography? I’m just so impressed they made ANOTHER top tier album.

The dust is still settling for me, but right now I think it's

    - Sam's Town
    - Day & Age
    - Hot Fuss
    - Imploding the Mirage

    [Monument Valley]

    - Wonderful, Wonderful

    [The Grand Canyon]

    - Battleborn

I like Battle Born quite a bit, but I always play around with the track list. I think it would be remembered a lot more fondly if it was something like:

    1. Flesh and Bone
    2. Runaways
    3. The Way It Was
    4. A Matter of Time
    5. Miss Atomic Bomb
    6. Carry Me Home
    7. The Rising Tide
    8. From Here on Out
    9. Be Still
    10. Battle Born

I've never liked Here with Me, I think it's probably their worst album track. Deadlines and Commitments is fine, but kind of a snooze. Heart of a Girl is good, but I just feel it's better suited (in this context) as a bonus track.

Here with me is full of cheese but I really dig the 2nd verse and the bridge. Just reminds me of young love/my teenage years and then basically how id react if i saw that ex today lol (“instead of walking towards you, I ran away”). I’d probably keep that over Be Still, could never get into that one very much.

But Flesh and Bone, Miss Atomic Bomb, and Battle Born are all top tier songs IMO. A Matter of Time and Runaways are great too.

I can understand that, I actually don’t think the verses are bad. But if you’re going to lean that far into pure schmaltz, the chorus better deliver, and for me it’s by far Brandon’s clunkiest haha.

Yeah the chorus is...not my favorite lol. I get the sentiment of it but clunky is a good word for it.

His vocal delivery on it still kills of course.

Liking this album and not at least enjoying parts of Battle Born makes zero sense to me, but y'all do you.

I have also tested out this alt and it's the stone-cold classic version. "Deadlines" has always been my least favorite, especially because that album is a little long as is. "Deadlines" being right in the middle just makes it feel a tad bloated. "Here with Me," I love the verses and the bridge but yeah, the chorus is a miss.

I'm a huge fan of Battle Born so I can't support having it way down there, but HUGE props for the Day & Age love! It's such a fun album. It's probably the one I listen to the most, with a few of the excellent b-sides from the era thrown in for good measure.

I actually really like all of the songs you cut for this, even though objectively speaking they're not that great and I will admit they are pretty cheesy, but this looks like an awesome, lean & mean version of the album. I'm gonna have to take it for a test drive. Seems like it would hit pretty hard. I have a soft spot for Deadlines & Commitments most out of the cut tracks - such an odd thing to sing about on such an epic album, but for some reason I've always enjoyed it.

I hate like fandom gatekeeping and people who invalidate other people's relationships with art, but if Battle Born is your last place Killers album I seriously question whether or not you really even like this band.

Wonderful Wonderful is pretty easily their weakest, I think, even though there are a lot of things that I love about that album. They just hadn't figured out how to make a Killers record without all the Killers yet. They figured that out with Mirage.
