  1. It's weird because mark has produced some good sounding albums. Weird he couldn't do it with his own.

Commit This To Memory is one of the best sounding recordings imo

I feel like a lot of it stems from Tom’s shitty guitar tones on Neighborhoods. Also, Critter was involved wasn’t he? That’s shocking bc the AVA albums sound great. Especially LOVE.

They're still shitty, but I like the guitar tones more on Neighborhoods than the guitar tones on CA. Those still sound like digital tones/plug-ins gone wrong that didn’t give any life to the guitar strings.

I’m happy Feldmann finally improved on that front after CA. The tones on are NINE are bright and snappy. Same goes for other stuff he’s worked on since.

  4. I don’t think Critter produced Love for AVA. I believe he had passed away before that one.

Just looked it up. Critter was engineer on those albums. Tom is listed as Producer. Critter passed about a month and a half after Love Pt II dropped.

Yep LOVE 2 was the last album with Critter and Atom recorded on drums.

  7. Speaking of production, I recently brought back the interview with Chris Holmes about DED:

    Sith Lord.

"Even if She Falls" was my favorite thing that came out of Neighborhoods.

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

I agree now. Wasn’t always my opinion, but now I think that song is the best on the album.

Even If She Falls is definitely my favorite. After Midnight is great but it really bugs me how Mark changes his vocal delivery between the first and second chorus (the "we'll stagger home after midnight" line). It almost feels like he messed up for the first chorus and then couldn't be bothered to fix it.

I’ve always thought that was a strange creative choice as well (but it doesn’t bother me). It doesn’t really feel deliberate, but either way, I just don’t know what purpose it serves.

if they took the best stuff from Neighborhoods, combined it with DED and got a good producer + them all in the same room, it would be a #2 Blink album.

I really don’t hear what some of you hear in Even if She Falls. I find that song incredibly dull, and the lyrics are pretty cringey, even for Tom. Don’t care much for the bulk of the record, but there are definitely better songs on Neighborhoods.

    Not good though?

Oh, and best Neighborhoods song is Up All Night ;)

It is arguably the worst thing Mark has ever done in his entire career. I think he also put 1% effort to it and did it in 4 minutes.

Sounds like someone is banging a nerf gun against a sidewalk.

    Better than you, sorry

Did Travis play drums on jxdn? If so then that’s the best song I’ve heard with members from blink in a very long time

Kaleidoscope is the best song on Neighborhoods. Too bad it’s a deep cut.

The “Even If She Falls” lovers made me realize that there’s two distinct sides to blink in a number of their songs. The poppier Enema vein vs. the darker Untitled vein. I’m more partial to the darker stuff that tends to depart from the typical pop punk.

You say Rabbit Hole, I say Los Angeles
You say Even If She Falls, I say Love is Dangerous
You say On Some Emo S***, I say Hungover You
You say Misery or Parking Lot, I say Last Train or 6/8

I’m not wording this well, so I dunno.
