Mark just read one of my comments out loud on Twitch (advice for Fall Guys). That's officially the most interaction I've ever had with him on a personal level.

He’s still the only member i haven’t met in person. I’ve met Tom numerous times. Once at a show and the rest randomly run-ins around town. Met Travis twice.once after a +44 show and then backstage at warped tour when he played with the transplants.

My only interaction with Mark was when he answered my question of Apple Watch or Fitbit? On Twitter haha.

    he said Fitbit.

Blink should just break up again so this thread can continuously speculate on when they’d get back together and with what lineup for years and years down the road.

  9. It boggles my mind that someone can listen to neighborhoods and say "yeah this is a great sounding album."

Sonically it’s definitely lacking, but I think the songs are top notch. The production is still better than Dude Ranch imo... granted that’s a low bar.

@Jason Tate i share your opinions much better on the politics thread

  14. Have to take into account it was recorded in 1996. For what Trombino was doing then, versus what Neighborhoods had around it, it's night and day which one is better produced. It's a great raw version of a major label pop-punk album. Neighborhoods doesn't sound great for it's time, or for what it's trying to be.

If Dude Ranch was recorded in 2011, it still sounds better than Neighborhoods.

The Mark Hoppus remix of Hallucinations sounds better than Neighborhoods.

Honestly the only thing that sounds worse than that remix is the Amoeba song Mark and Travis did.

I mean I’ll toss Neighborhoods on in September as it reminds me of my senior year in high school ... but it’s flaws are obvious.

However, will say After Midnight is excellent.

The few years after Neighborhoods came out I loved it in the fall. Just held up less and less for me. Doesn't help that I just hate something about the album sequencing

After Midnight, Hearts All Gone, and Fighting The Gravity are really the only songs on there that I consider worth revisiting, the rest are super forgetful and disappointing.

Loved Natives for awhile due to the main riff kind of reminding me of M+Ms, but Marks choruses on it are just suuper monotone

The mixing and layering on Neighborhoods is kinda lacking. The drums are kinda tinny, the guitars are buried in the mix, and the bass isn't compressed enough to create that really big sound they were going for.

That being said, it's a perfectly acceptable sounding indie/alt-rock album. Throw some those songs in a playlist with "Ghosts Of Beverly Drive" & "Anna Sun" and it sounds just fine.

  25. It really doesn’t, compared to those though. Those are wayyyyyyyy better produced and engineered.
