Like, these are retail prices or at the brewery themselves?

I've never seen this one around me but I want it now. Love Coconut stouts.

re: pricing - I don't know. I guess I'm just used to paying a premium for stouts but I don't think $40 for a 4 pack is bad. Especially when it's a good one. Sure I've had cheaper singles that are great stuff but usually it's not stuff that is as readily available to me or it's a cheaper single that the quality doesn't make it worth it to me.

Too many subpar year round stouts (YETI for instance) IMO so I have to pay more for the stuff that is limited.

I cannot think of a single beer in Michigan that a brewery would sell a 16 ounce can for $10 out of the brewery, or four packs for $40 out of the brewery. That one you posted Steve I can see where the cost comes in that recipe — oat milk in bulk + a fuck ton of vanilla beans drives the price up quickly on ingredients — and there are obvious economic differences between California and Michigan but fuck, I can’t fathom that. Even 750’s of Schramms — THE BEST MEADERY IN THE WORLD — sell at retail for like $40 at most and that shit is dessert wine, essentially and uses tons of expensive honey in it.

idk I think you get to a size like the bruery, you’re just raking your customers over the coals given how big their production is that cost should be significantly lower at your brewery than $10 a can, even specialties. Just my $0.02

Also it’s 100% possible that I’m just not in tune with non-Michigan markets price wise.

at my local distributor - i looked up how much it would have been to pick it up curbside at the brewery and it's like $16 lol

    was sad

most ive ever paid for a 4 pack is like 16 or 17 bucks and even that caused me to flinch. cant remember what it was but it was something in PA. stone peak conditions 6 pack of 12 oz cans cost around that much too. but that beer is amazing.

I mean are Prairie stout bottle not $12-14 a bottle where you guys are at ? Seems like people pay for those no issue and I'm like, eh, there is much better stouts for that price range in my area.

Yeah haven’t been able to pull the trigger on BL stout cans like Study Break at that price point. Just hard for me to justify spending that much on a non-BA stout.

Most I’ve ever paid for a 4-pack is probably $22 for some Trillium stuff, good but way overpriced. Now I tend to flinch at anything over $13 save a few exceptions. Probably helps that my taste has generally shifted from IPAs and stouts to German style lagers. Still love IPAs and stouts but if I’m drinking more than one I want something a bit lighter.

Bottles of Bomb! here typically range $9.99-11.99, if I recall correctly but I haven’t purchased one in a while so I might be off on that.

Yeah Bomb! is $9-10 here. Still too expensive for me to get except very occasionally

I’ve def spent ridiculous money on beers, so no judgement. Just $40 caught me off guard. Better believe I bought a ton of cascade when they launched at like $25+ per 750 and def got their Manhattan one for $45
