I'm too tired for Big 4 thrash arguments today

 

That, and especially after Seasons In The Abyss their music takes a big nosedive and to this day hasn't recuperated. Every other thrash band has put out at least decent efforts in recent years. Slayer were never bad before that, just average, with a few great standout tracks.

Oh and in case I need to take my already spicy takes to ghost pepper levels of heat, Sodom and Kreator are better than every American thrash band and the Lesser Three (Testament, Exodus, Overkill) are better than the lower two of the Big Four.

Also God Hates Us All fucking rocks. It doesn’t touch their classic run, but it’s like their take on Hatebreed. Real smoothbrain goon shit.

I like that man’s argument was “Kerry is a douche” when arguing their merits against bands that contain Dave Mustaine and Lars Ulrich

 

idk why it stuck in my head but I was reading the slash biography probably 5-10 years ago and the only time he mentions Metallica is to say that he was at a house party and walked into a room and james hetfield was skull-fucking a girl lol. chill guy!

 

"Kerry is a douche" was a cherry-on-top swipe that was not at all my main argument and I cooked Dave Mustaine way harder than Kerry in the same post LMAO. As for Lars, everybody has a different take on the dude but note how the three bands with noteworthy a-holes were below Anthrax (Scott Ian is a dumbass no doubt but TBH he's just a boomer at worst).

This was news to me. From what I can tell from a short Google search it looks like Benante was actually the physical assault victim instead.

i remember reading he was arrested for domestic abuse but it's been a number of years

the only other thrash bands that stand up with the big three are sepultura (has a good argument for being best of all), power trip (rip a king), and lamb of god

 

I can also get down with that! Sepultura slap (though I wish people would accept that both Roots and their pre-Roots material are dope) and Power Trip are/were truly something special.

Roots is an interesting album in the sense that I wish I heard it when it came out. Listening to it now after being inundated with second stage Ozzfest nu-metal for all of my adolescence really diminished its impact for me.

 

Beneath the Remains is probably my favorite Sepultura record otherwise

 

Now I wanna listen to Soulfly.
