Also, how come you are just reusing the same old talking points and masking it as "trying to have a discussion"? This discussion has been had more civilly elsewhere and you can look up what the retorts to all your points are. Frankly, we are tired of "having discussions". also I'll say this, if you look at the police killing black men disproportionately, then you see their protests and then you start concern-trolling the protests, that says something about you as a person that I am not sure you can fix with "education".

I dunno who posting dumb conservative talking points, who believe theyre in the minority, despite having a whole-ass political party that supports their beliefs, needs to hear this, but if you’re against these protests you’d likely be against all the protests of the civil rights era.

Probably need to rehash the difference between equality and equity. Also the difference between prejudice, racism, and systemic racism.

 

Yeah I tried, I don’t think it’s possible to read the links I posted, acknowledge that the status quo is racist, and then come back with “it should be all lives matter.” I’m not engaging anymore. Read more and try to empathize with those who have been oppressed rather than those who hold all the structural power.

 

Calling Doncic and ****-ass white boy is not racist, just like me doing the same to all the white boys thread, is also not racist.

 

While we are on the topic I want to say this:

I completely understand the rationale behind protesting in forms that is not peaceful. While personally I don’t think I would want to partake in a protest causing destruction I’m not going to ridicule those that are doing it. People have every right be be angry and frustrated with a system putting so much value in goods over people.

My only concern is that that is not the view of most people. As we’ve seen so far, in general it doesn’t seem the violent protests are getting us very far, it seems it just gives the politicians an excuse to send in law enforcement help and for people to try and bring down the movement as just causing violence. What does it take to get people to actually see that meaningful change needs to happen to stop the violence, not just sending in feds or law enforcement or whatever in the name of safety and order?

I don’t know about what measure, but from what I could see, more people are at least becoming accepting and understanding of the property damage and looting. Really understanding the “riots are the language of the unheard” message whether they’ve read that quote or not.

 

I’m sure if we protest exactly how Tammy Baldwin wants us to, we will make huge gains
