Also if they were shooting the episodes in order, then the first, like, 8-9 are probably already done. They were probably going to shoot the final couple in that last month and then finish post-production on them while the ones that were already finished were airing.

That's probably still going to be what's happening considering they haven't actually gone back to start filming again yet and the premiere date is in a little over a month lol

Most shows don't have the entire season in the can when the first episode airs, it's only become more common with streaming platforms when you release the whole season at once

A couple years ago when I was an entertainment writer I had a phone interview with the producer of a drama on Fox and it was halfway thru the season at that point and that week they were in production of the second to last episode

Yeah I mean for anyone who watches the CW DC comics shows, those goddamn things get random annoying mid-season delays all the time because they’re basically constantly shooting and they take breaks at certain points.

networks shows it would be a logistical nightmare to have the whole season pre-filed. Think of something like Modern Family which was...24? episodes per season, if they had to finish 24 episodes before airing it would be pure insanity

It's still my least favorite of the three seasons that've aired but it's far from bad. It just had to follow up two pretty much perfect seasons of television so expectations were high and I feel like a lot of people just didn't vibe with the direction it took. I loved it though, especially David Thewlis, who stole the show for me every time he was on screen.

Thewlis is my favourite of the three major villains in this show, no doubt. I don't know if another villain has ever made my skin crawl from the first time I saw him

Season 3 was easily my least favourite on first airing. it took the rewatch (or just seeing all the episodes within a few days) for it to click with me - it's such a well-made season of television. the payoffs to Nikki, Gloria and Emmit's character arcs are all so fucking great, the last scene with Gloria and Varga is flawless, the supernatural stuff is done just enough to make an impact without overtaking the show. I think I prefer it to Season 1 now, which on original airing consistently blew my mind, but rewatching it felt more straightforward than the other seasons with a few great moments

Season 3 rules, biggest joke ever was seeing tv reviewers bending over backwards to try and figure out a way to hate it

for real, I got to Who Rules the Land of Denial? the other night and thought "how is this not universally considered the best episode of the show"

Been rewatching S3. Really love it - more than S1 and maybe as much as S2, but i also feel like its themes are almost completely inscrutable.

  15. I need to start a series rewatch soon. Been a season 3 defender from the start but I still like the other two more

I never finished s3, not because I didn’t like it I just had other stuff going on at the time. Think I’ll do that before the new one starts.

is it s2 or s3 where they have an intro to an episode that includes a voice over - narrated by Billy Bob - that align all characters to animal sounds played by a symphony? that's quite possibly my favorite moment of the series.

No that is correct. Thewlis as Varga was arresting.

Yeah Varga is the best villain overall in a series that has had plenty of fantastic ones

Bokeem Woodbine as Milligan is pretty easily my favorite villain on the show. at the very least, the most interesting.
