Not surprising considering the movie made like $200 million globally

 

I hate that Snyder gets a dumptruck full of money to film his four-hour re-shoot, but there will be no sequel to this.

 

Absolute trash that that talentless hack gets to keep failing upward while actual good, exciting, unique takes on the characters get shafted.

At least Margot will be back and done right in The Suicide Squad.

 

If it's related - I don't think we will see blockbuster movies for a while because of the theater vs pandemic situation. Studios will never make a profit if everything is VOD or streaming services buy their movies for insane amounts.

 

I want just a Poison Ivy in this universe damn it

 

I mean, DC has Suicide Squad, Batman, Black Adam, Flash, Aquaman, Shazam, New Gods, & whatever else in the pipeline right now. Of course there’s “nothing imminent at this stage, nothing worth mentioning.”

Now, that’s not to say I think there’s nothing to worry about. This is a female-centric film, directed by a woman of color, that underperformed at the box office. I wouldn’t be shocked if a proper sequel never materialized, which would be super disappointing to me (‘cause this is my favorite DC film).

But, like, I bet WB would like more of Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn after Suicide Squad, & I bet she keeps pushing for films like this one. And, whether with Birds of Prey or Justice League or whatever else, I could easily see Jurnee Smollett‘s Black Canary returning. So, I wouldn’t be shocked if, eventually, this got some kinda follow-up. Would love if said project involved Cathy Yan, but at least her next film is (I believe) an A24 film.

 

That's really sad. Hopefully if Suicide Squad does well it'll increase the interest. Birds of Prey is a ridiculously fun ride

Watched this on HBOMax and I’ll come clean, I loved this and it was a great time.
