Just listened again and maybe it deserves to be above SNW, but most of the album does little to nothing for me.

I do really like the title track, Prince, Sextape, Risk, and This Place Is Death though. And there's nothing on there I dislike as much as the stuff I dislike on SNW, so I will change DE to 6th.

 

This Place is Death is awesome. All of their closers are <--- I think I have said this 100 times. You could make a kickass album out of their closers.

 

I’m right there with you on it doing little to nothing for me, as far as Deftones albums go. I caught a lot of flak for saying that a couple months ago in here, haha.

it's the only deftones album my dad likes (lol sure dad) but, yeah, that song has been tattooed on my brain since I was like 10

So uh a lot of stuff happened, guess my late evenings are going to be focused on Deftones and only them. I actually listened to Saturday Night Wrist on my way back home just earlier.

I always regarded S/T as my fave, being the album that got me into the band. However, it's not the easiest listen due to its raw and both menacing/beautiful soundscape. Definitely agree with everything @nohandstoholdonto said about it in the last few pages.

I usually go with Koi No Yokan, White Pony or Diamond Eyes first everytime I'm craving their music.

I'm catching up on the album thread at Sharinglungs at the same time and I got to the part where they still think this isn't the artwork or that the bottom half is going to be revealed later, all while believing random hints newly registered users acting as insiders posted.

I missed the opener discussion cos I was asleep but my input: "Hole in the Earth" is their best opener by a landslide. also one of their best songs overall - thanks

 

Hole in the Earth and Diamond Eyes are top two openers imo. I love prayers/triangles too but it just doesn't work as an opener for me

Back when Diamond Eyes leaked, someone immediately had the audacity to point out the similarity of the hook to this and I still can't unhear it.

In other news, this made me chuckle.
