Sheldon Rankins carted off. Comical at this point. Three key defensive players lost already on a defense that badly needs any help it can get.

Stephone Anthony (just got an alert saying he'll be back week 1) and we lost Kikaha for the year

 

How have you evaluated him given that he hasn't played in the regular season in that time span and has only played 2 regular season games in his career? Should bald and uninformed assertions be taken over evaluations of "lol preseason"?

Anyways, some insight into the local evaluations of Tolzien over the past couple years (last year was when he made his jump forward):

Tolzien is a better player than Daniels with higher upside. Not to slight a hometown hero in Daniels, but his ceiling is competent backup.

don't you think there is a reason he hasn't played in any regular season games? probably because he isn't good enough to be a starter

 

I remember Scott Tolzien playing against the Eagles back in 2013.

That was fun.

Also, Chase Daniel(no s) is fucking garbage. He's on my team and I wish will all my power that he wouldn't be.

 

For the price of Daniel, the Broncos have Lynch, Sanchez, and Simeon, all three of whom are better than Daniel. Also, Daniel's contract is larger than Bortles' lol.

 

Was always a big Tolzien fan when he was a niners backup.

I literally HATE Chase Daniel being on my team.

 

I have no rooting interest in the Eagles and I hate that he's on the team so I can't imagine how you feel haha.

 

Kids, play nice. Regardless how bad or decent Tolzien/Daniel are we can all agree it really does not matter haha

 

Speaking of backup QBs though...

It is SAD that Chad Henne has been a starter for like 4 or 5 years and been in the league more than a decade and still looks like trash against second-team defenses calling simple plays in preseason. Brandon Allen is a 6th round rookie who already looks more composed and accurate than a vet backup we pay 6 mill a year. I really don't get how Henne is still that bad haha.

 

The Steelers #2 QB will be Landry Jones so I don't feel bad for anyone

 

That sucks a lot dude. I loved both Rankins and Kikaha a lot coming out, thought with them and Cam Jordan you guys would be turning up the heat this year.

 

The Lions #2 is Dan Orlovsky. I have no sympathy.

 

I think Dan Orlovsky and Chad Henne are both worse than Daniel, Tolzien or Landry tbh

Henne actually got worse when we drafted Bortles

 

In no figment of even the daftest imaginations is paying $1 million for a bad back-up worse than paying $21 million for a bad third stringer.

 

$1MM for a bad backup is definitely worse if the starter gets hurt. Otherwise, yes

 

Derek Anderson is maybe the most reliable backup in the league. So fortunate to have him.
