When we received our mail in application it did state that we could either mail it in or our county gov't building will also accept them. We feel safe voting where we live though. Its still paper ballots but I think my polling place never sees more than 80 people all day long.

Its now been over a month since I've received UI. I tried to place a new call to receive a call back (I havent received one yet) and it won't let you reset your place in line (I thought maybe I made a mistake) I entered my info on a forgot log in page..doesn't recognize my SSN/Mothers maiden/City born as if my claim doesn't exist at all.

I honestly have no idea. Our local office opened back up. When I called there, it just had me hang up and dial the same number I called before. My status with my employer has not changed. I'm so fed up

My buddy is getting unemployment down here in Florida because he’s taking care of his mother who just went through a battle with cancer. He’s been relying on unemployment and the extra $600 to get the mortgage paid and all of the bills. He told me it got cut down to $400 and now only $300 saying the state (FL) won’t do their portion saying there’s no money. Our government has really failed us.

AOC is so good at making these jabs and calling attention to actual issues at the same time.

She’s definitely going to run for President, I don’t know when would make the most sense, I think she’s wary of pissing off the party elites so she wouldn’t challenge an incumbent, even for Senate, so she might play the long game and keep building a resume. But of course I wish she’d run in the next four years, one of the only people I think really cares and knows who they’re fighting for.

 

I've seen people talk about AOC running for president in 2024, but she'd only be 34 years old so wouldn't be eligible anyway, right?

If we're still having elections by then, I don't think AOC runs for president until at least 2028.

 

My assumption is she would run in either 2028 or 2032. Her next step should definitely be senate, challenging Schumer would be cool but I don't know how realistic that would be. If Harris is running for re-election in 2028 when it would probably make more sense for her to do it in 2032. She could try and primary her in 2028 but I don't see it going well. But who the fuck knows were talking 8 years into the future.
