I did a top ten yesterday with my cousin and my brother.

Took about twenty minutes for me to be unhappy with it, so no I won’t be sharing.

I'd probably have at least 20 post-2000 songs on any top 100.

Girls in their Summer Clothes is probably in my top-10 Bruce songs

I'm with him though that The River should have been a triple album.

And Darkness should have been a double.

Personally, I'd rather The River have been three separate albums over a triple.

I’d say “could have been,” not “should have been.” Part of what I respect about him is that, for the most part, I believe he was an astonishingly good editor of his own material in those days and crafted concise, very cohesive works of art when he could have made super sprawling records that maybe wouldn’t have conveyed their themes quite as well. Darkness in particular I think needs to be lean and mean like it is. Though “The Promise” should be on there.

To me, The River’s appeal is how much of a catch all it is. Bar rock and sad ballads and a whole mixture. Another mixed up disc wouldn’t have changed that much for me

I do so declare that the River is perfect as is

I will say I’d be more open to adding a third River disc than a second Darkness disc. But I’d probably swap out my five least favorites for my five favorite b-sides from that era.

I think the biggest "what if" in the history of music for me is what one more album between The Wild, The Innocent, and The E Street Shuffle and Born to Run would have sounded like.

The man has incredible b-sides. That’s for sure.

I wonder how many more unreleased songs there are? I think that top 100 list had at least 1-2 I am completely unfamiliar with.
Maybe should release them as much of his fanbase is aging.

With all the good b sides from darkness I’m just shocked factory held them off. I know it fits the mood of the album but that’s the one darkness track that does nothing for me. Promise, point blank, iceman, Independence Day all would fit that mood and are far better than factory imo.

“Take ‘Em As They Come” not making it has never made sense to me. An all-timer.

That probably is the one I would swap if I were trading something out for “The Promise.” I think “Point Blank” and “Independence Day” work better on The River though.

I've spent many more hours than I'll admit building alternate universe Springsteen albums. My WI&ESS era album is:
    1. "Santa Ana"
    2. "Zero and Blind Terry"
    3. "Evacuation of the West"
    4. "Seaside Bar Song"
    5. "The Fever"
    6. "Thundercrack"

Looking like a new song premiering on Thursday night/Friday at midnight? Can’t imagine why else Bruce would be doing his E Street Radio show at that time.

I should really listen to Tracks at some point. Just haven’t had time for 4.5 hours of new Bruce.

If you love Bruce, you need to have Tracks and The Promise albums both in heavy rotation with the classics.

I didn't realize "The Fever" was from that time. I might make this an "album" in my itunes.

Dude! Take it one disc at a time. It's not a proper album. And it's absolutely essential listening.

I have one Bruce playlist where have all the songs (even b sides) sequentially, (for instance these directly after WIESS). Makes for a fun listen as you hear the songs progress as the band got older.
