Tom is clearly the glue that holds the band together since untitled. Mark is amazing paired with Tom and they complement each other so well. But I feel like I enjoy Mark most when there’s inspiration from Tom. Obviously since untitled mark hasn’t really had a chance to capture that magic again.

Honestly, I think Tom, Feldy, and Oliver Tree would be the ultimate Blink like up at this point.

I forgot to point out how much I also like Wishing Well. I can't really remember the MH something one, but I thought it was at least ok. After Midnight and Ghost on the Dance floor were just meh, and I don't think I liked Natives. I really only listen to Up All Night and Wishing Well. I should give the whole thing another listen tho, just to see.

The songs from Neighbourhoods that stand up IMO are Ghost on the Dance Floor, Natives, Wishing Well, and the best song I think they have written since back, After Midnight. Everything else is either muddled or just plain bad like Love Is Dangerous.

I guess I'm still the only one who actually likes Love is Dangerous.

If it weren’t for the vocal delivery and lyrics, I would like that song a lot better. Love how heavy it sounds.

I've got love for Fighting the Gravity. Also agree that the Snake Charmer bridge is one of my favorite moments. It's the only bridge on the album that actually has vocals! Even if it is just Ahh Ahh Ahhh Ahhh lol

MH is probably one of the weakest moments on the record for me. It still confuses me why Even If She Falls is a bonus track on this. It's the best thing on here.

I like the Neighborhoods in general. Really liked it at release, have soured on it a bit but I’m listening now and enjoying it so idk. Tom could definitely chill the fuck out on some tracks

    Keep on moving. Busy street.

If they had taken the best ten tracks of the deluxe edition and worked with a producer so that the performances and tones didn't sound so lifeless, it would probably be my second favorite album by them.

Neighborhoods was my first full Blink album so it holds a special place; Usually at the top of my Blink album rankings.

It'll always hold a special place in my heart because it was my first release that came out as a fan, and I saw them so many times touring on that album. Also I do really love it, and sure it's disjointed and Frankensteined together, but it's got some damn good songs on it. And hearing Mark and Tom sing together on new material after so long will never not be magical.

Up All Night is one that just listening to as a one-off isn't anything groundbreaking, but I do remember that first time hearing it and just being so stoked to hear a Tom / Mark song again.

Fun to see that some of you guys came on board with Neighborhoods! First album nostalgia usually can't be topped regardless of where the record should ACTUALLY be in a bands discog

I've been trying to place the feeling of the album, but "lifeless" is probably the most accurate way to describe the record. Even just the sounds of the guitars are really flat and have no energy to them.

I was on a roadtrip last week and had a mix of blink songs going at one point. Anytime a song from Neighborhoods came on, it felt like there was a drop in enthusiasm (if that makes sense). The whole tone of the album just gives you an impression that probably no one involved had fun making that thing.

This is exactly how I feel.

I remember the whole album process seemed like a chore for them. Weird to think they initially wanted to get an album out the Summer of the reunion and it took what another 2 years? I also remember Mark posting a lot about how he was struggling creatively at the time.

Neighbourhoods is the result of one member of the band thinking he’s better than the rest of the band, and the other members going along with it so they can still have a band.

That said, there are still some good songs and moments on the album. Also, credit to Mark and Travis for making the tough decision to move on with Blink without Tom. I’m sure it wasn’t easy, but it was necessary. It’s allowed Blink with Skiba and Feldy to make much more music and allowed Tom freedom to do whatever he feels like.

I guess this is growing up.

I feel like I've maybe been in his shoes before with something similar... You avoid writing songs by yourself because you want to wait until collaboration happens, but then it just never materializes. I feel like he probably ended up just saying "Fuck it, we're not going to work together anyway - might as well write a few by myself" and that's how we got his few (lackluster) songs and is also why we didn't get very many songs from him out of this album and the following EP. Meanwhile, Tom was probably really content just to knock out a bunch of songs on his own and call them done.

Honestly, just having a mutual producer to help bring some collaboration and cohesion would have probably turned it into a good-to-great album.
