For some reason I though Feldmann encouraged them to write the joke songs. If they had changed the lyrics they actually could have been good (music was good).

If the song Quarantine is good, that’s all that really matters

 

Yeah I never understood the pivot back to joke band when they were at their most successful in 2003 when they dropped the schtick.

 

Enema sold 2x as much as the untitled album ftr.

They're weird immature dudes and whoever is doing art direction for them lately has sucked. (Nine was the outlier.) I don't get it. It looks like shit NOFX would do.

I like “bloody valentine” but this new Machine Gun Kelly song is terrible, despite a great chorus. It sounds so bored with itself and the the verse is so awkward. Drop a syllable dawg!

Honestly....as excited as I am for more blink, i'm in the mood for more Simple Creatures. Travis is off doing his own thing with MGK and other artists during this weird ass time...Mark and Alex should do something.

 

Honestly,I don’t see anything offensive on that artwork or something I’d call the band out for...but it’s just...wannabe ,,shocking” and it makes me more like roll my eyes than anything else...I just miss the 2003’s blink and pre blink Skiba more with every new release

 

MGK song is competent and super by the numbers. It's enjoyable but probably would get tired with it quick

Better than pop-punk MGK has any right to be though so I'll give it that

 

Yeah. If Good Charlotte released it we’d be like “eh it’s a pretty decent lower tier paint by numbers track by them” but ‘cause it’s someone who hasn’t done/isn’t known for the sound before it somehow gets elevated a bit. I’m not as impressed as others have been, the vocals kinda bug me at times.

Been falling down a +44 wormhole the last few days. Damn, this album has aged well for me. I'm bummed I never got the chance to see them live.

Is it just me that thinks the art work is some kind of desperation act. They seem to try way too hard to be “funny” or “part of the scene” . I dont know, maybe im thinking too much into it!?

Machine Gun Kelly’s new pop-punk songs are sounding really cool... more authentic than most “pop-punk” bands including blink. Something to look forward too ;)

 

As much as I’m enjoying the MGK songs, the new one just sounds like something a band like Busted would have written back in the early 2000’s. There’s just something about it.

 

Glad someone else beat me to this, I think it's really cool that black kids are the ones bringing the sound back

I think Makeshift Love is the only song i’ve liked by Good Charlotte in 15+ years haha
