I am so fucking lucky I am not a kid or a teenager right now. I would be so scared to go back.

I feel like we are going to be seeing a lot of these types of photos in the coming weeks. I don't get why high school aged students need to be physically back at school though. They are more than capable of staying home and doing virtual school and the parent doesn't have to worry about having someone take care of them.

 

schools here don’t start til at least the 24th due to a law put in place I wanna say in the last few years? used to start earlier. and those restrictions put in place last week are their last ditch effort to drive cases down to justify sending kids to school. too bad cases are gonna go right back up when you send them back

My parents are convinced that young people don't get coronavirus, so uh, yeah.

 

yeah I mean as shitty as unequal treatment would be, high schools make the most sense by far to be virtual. So even if you wanted to send the little kiddos back, you could keep HS and probably even middle school virtual

 

Also, if you do that, you could use the high school for the elementary school kids to better spread out students since high schools are usually bigger.

 

Apparently in the county of the photo I shared above, if you are on the wait list for virtual school (which it sounds like a lot are) you have to attend school physically until you are off the list. I get that there isn't a third alternative, but still, what a mess.

How the fuck can the president take a look at 160,000 dead Americans with "It is what it is" and not be immediately run out of office?

Can you imagine if Obama's response to Benghazi was to just dismissively go "It is what it is"? And that was for 0.0025% of the death total.

 

Pretty much this exact same thing happened in China a few years ago. It probably doesn't need to be said, but fireworks are extremely powerful explosives. It's insane that they are kept in such large concentrations in populated areas.

 

I fuckin hate fireworks. a month and a half ago when I was on my epic bender the area where I went to buy drugs (Kensington) was non stop fireworks the moment the sun went down, some guy was selling them out of the back of his truck on the same corner they were selling me drugs. and they were firing them off right there. big ones that made my ears hurt

 

Seems a bit on-the-nose to have them already all be wearing black

 

Do you think we'll even get that far? Or will the republican controlled legislatures in states like PA and WI allow them to simply not count all the mail-in ballots in order to preserve Trump's slim lead?

 

I remember this and thinking the same thing. It makes no sense to have these in densely populated areas.
