Probably more than “being punk” pays.

For publishing purposes, Scott is a credited writer on all songs up to "Mutt".

Sometimes under his own publishing entity (meaning Tom's 33.33% is his entity, "Jolly Old Sain Dick", Mark's is "HMNIM", Scott's is "Scott Raynor Pub")

It's also possible Scott doesn't own his publishing anymore, like how Michael Jackson bought the Beatles' publishing rights.

Scott would also receive performance royalties for the albums he's on.

Didn't Tom sell his rights to a lot of his old songs?

Really curious what he got paid for those rights. And how much got pumped into the TTS pit.

  9. Let’s talk about Tom’s Angels and Airwaves, and your thoughts on all of that?

My honest opinion of that Angels and Airwaves record is that it didn’t really do anything for me. After I heard the first single I thought that the verses were really good, and then it got to the chorus and for me it just fell apart after that. I felt there were a lot of ideas that were trying to work there way out, but none of the songs got to that part where they just opened up, you know?

Was this the direction Tom wanted Blink to go in?

Well, the thing is, some of the songs that were recorded and ended up on that album, were demoed as Blink182 songs on the last US tour. We took out basically a studio that we were setting up in dressing rooms and demoing songs. And when Tom quit Blink, a couple weeks later his manager called up and said “Tom’s taking some of those songs you guys demoed and is going to be recording them for his new solo project.” When the Angels and Airwaves album came out, I was listening, because I thought some of those demos were the start of something good, and I wanted to hear what they sounded like. And then when I heard the actual execution of them, I was kind of disappointed. But, with that being said, I want to say that I’ve always respected Tom as a song writer, and I know that he has the ability to write really good songs. But that record, just, well, didn’t do anything for me.

Man i remember reading this interview back on AP. Time flies!

So funny how Mark and Travis were against recording remotely and then they did exactly that with Neighbourhoods. Obviously circumstances change but what an interesting time that was to be a blink fan.

What’s Scott up to these days? Is he still in a band?

Yeah good question. That's so weird/such a bummer how the band and label pushed the idea that Tom and Mark started it together when Mark didn't really join until later

Wow based on that old AP interview with Scott it almost seems like he and late-era/AVA Tom would have been on the same page.

Where did you want to take the band?

I don’t really know, I just enjoyed the times when we were all in a van and loading our own gear and sweating and stinking and all that. That’s where I feel most comfortable and I think I was uncomfortable moving into the, “other world.” I didn’t like doing encores and stuff it seemed, “fake,” to me. But everyone says that’s part of being an entertainer, but to me music isn’t just entertainment. It is life blood, and a force that can change the world for the better. Is that melodramatic or what? But I am serious.

What do you mean by “good thing”?

It’s weird, but I think that Blink could have been better, or could have been about better things.

He’s in some band, but I can’t remember which. The podcast blink-155 did get him to answer some questions via email. I forget which episode it’s on.
