grey hairs, get out of me zoots! Prestigious

Tbh I get where youre coming from here somewhat, ive been having discussions about similar topics lately.I do think it's ultimately harmful for us to be policing and taking down each other rather than unifying and taking down the system that opresses all of us. But I think the way you're addressing this and who you're using as examples and sources could all be improved!

I don’t know if I’ll ever stop being pissed off at states opening up bars and giving the illusion it was safe to go out and party as you did before.

and it’s infuriating when people blame those going out and not the state for opening up, sending people back to work, and making us all think it’s okay

Yep. Like sure, 20-29 year olds are stil dumb kids in some aspects, but...when the president and your governor are railing about how we’ve got this beat and we have to start getting back to normal and etc, and then they open up the bars again....what person in their early-mid 20s who likes to go out to bars isn’t going to take that as a signal of “oh everything must be cool now and the virus isn’t that serious”?

So many people discount how important government leadership is. Even if we’re not all “sheep” that listen to whatever Government says, it still influences our behavior on at least a subconscious level.

Yeah, with this, ignorance is not an excuse. You have to do better than seeings bars open back up and assuming it's all fine.

Yeah 25 year olds are gonna be morons who think they're invisible that's their job but unfortunately the stakes are higher now but also anyone who isn't enforcing mask wearing is murdering their citizens

Yea I don't think anybody here at least is going to lump the "I am forced to work in this capitalistic society or else I/those I'm supporting will die" and "woooooo I can go back out again and have fuuuuuuuuun, it's not as bad as people say!" together at all

Yeah, I have sympathy for my sister who is forced to work at a restaurant still. I do not have any sympathy for the people going in there and complaining about safety measures. They can fuck off to the sun.

nah, I'm good. people have been doing this with you for the better part of a week now and you've, clearly, taken nothing from it. that's not on me.

tbh part of the reason i relapsed is because i wasnt working and had no routine or anything to do, i am actually happy to be back at work (i had to get a new job because i had to move back home because of said relapse) so long as its safe and social distancing and mask rules are followed, which it seems like the place i got hired at is taking it seriously (i asked about their new procedures in my interview, they were impressed)

This is what I mean. A lot of people don't care about this stuff. If you're talking and caring about these things, then you weren't part of the group I was talking about.

As much as we should blame the government for not stepping up and allowing things like bars be open, there has to be some personal responsibility. Young people should still be able to see all of the people dying and the medical experts telling us to avoid gatherings and activities especially indoors and be able to make the decision to not go out and do that.

It’s both infuriating that the government isn’t taking the right measures to keep people safe (because they know many people aren’t going to make smart decisions) and that people are not more responsible in what actions they take.

sure, but not everyone going out to restaurants and bars right now dont care at all. obviously dumb fucks who dont wear masks and stand on top of each other are morons. but like i said, the lockdown was an extremely unhealthy situation for me that literally put my life in jeopardy, i almost died. i sympathize with people wanting to go back out and why they would jump at the opportunity if the perception is that its safe to do.

My issue isn't with people going out in general it's with people who think it's all fine and everything is back to normal. In ordinary circumstances I get not knowing everything going on but in these times you have to take the responsibility to stay informed. I'm sorry to hear that though man and I really hope you're in a better place now. I didn't mean to make you feel guilty or anything, I was coming for an entirely different group of people
