  1. I'm still constantly amazed that Jack Antonoff has become JACK ANTONOFF

The first couple piano chords on “The 1” make me think “Thunder Road” every time.

“august" sounds like she was listening to “kiss me” and was like... “oh! i can do that!"

I've always liked her voice and think she's been a very strong vocalist since Speak Now at least, but she definitely has continued to improve on that front every record. Which makes perfect sense: your voice isn't fully mature at 16 or 18 or 20.

If there is any artist that doesn’t need the pub it’s T Swift, but would love to see a BNT write up on P4K for basically any track here.

Count me under the list of "non-Taylor fans who are blown away by this". I ordered the vinyl immediately after my first listen, then went on to stay up way too late listening to it twice more. Give her all of the hyperbole and every award. This album deserves every ounce of praise it's received so far.

One song in and I can already tell this is the album I wanted after 1989. Last album just didn't hit for me. So stoked for this.

So epiphany is about a COVID ICU nurse, right?

The second half sounds like it - The first half is apparently about her grandfather's military experiences

I read something about that but I think it's a dual-meaning analogy for the nurse "going into battle"

revising my opinion of the lyrics. she didn’t level up here so much as just display a totally different writing style and skill set, which is remarkable when you’re 10+ years into a career. she’s really cemented herself as a writer with this album.

There’s no way I can wrap my head around this after one listen, especially for what seems to be much more of a fall album. Obviously Taylor sounds fantastic and it’s extremely well produced so my reaction is immediately positive, but I’m looking forward to letting this simmer for me over time. Lots to dig into and I think it’ll be a major grower.

Did anyone who ordered the vinyl get the digital download yet? I haven't and it's been a few hours.
