I really thought I had a shot of another Fearless-in-the-top-3 with you. Haha

Wait. We're getting new Ellie Goulding, Taylor Swift, and Beyonce on three consecutive Fridays. My trifecta. I just. 2020 might actually be...nah, it's not good. But what a streak.

We reach for the longest shadow

As awful as 2020 has been in so many ways, it's been one of the best musical years for me in a while, and we still have 5ish months to go.

I really struggle with how to rank those middle three, haha. I think it's the one of those three that I listen to the least, but it depends on the mood I'm in. There are definitely days where I vibe way more with Fearless than I do 1989, for instance.

I find for me that the deciding factor is some of the jolt I get from 1989's songs has worn off a bit with familiarity, but the good stuff on Fearless still hits the exact same way.

1989 was such a thrill to hear that first time, so I completely get that. The second half of Fearless does not quite live up to the first half for me, so I think that might be why I go through it less often. But now you're making me second guess my own ranking, because I definitely miss the sound of Fearless for her.

I woke up with a migraine this morning and cried, and then this surprise is the first thing I saw when I turned on my phone, and cried again.

Also, how am I supposed to pick one vinyl edition when they're all part of my favorite color palate??

I would generally agree about the second half but "You're Not Sorry" is top 3 on the album and I love "Forever and Always" (even if the piano version eclipses it.

  16. Depending on the day, I'd put Fearless above 1989. But Red is pretty much cemented in the #1 slot. We'll see how this new one fits in though! Eeeee!

The whole record is good, but the run from 1 to 7 has all my favorite songs on the record.

Well, since I'm not hearing this until, realistically, tomorrow morning, I guess I'll busy myself delving into the new Lori McKenna album.
