Even if you want to give joe the benefit of the doubt on politics, his entire circle of podcast friends and co hosts were just called out last week as being absolute monsters to women in comedy with Joey Diaz joking about how he forced women to give him a blowjob to get time on stage. This was said on Rogan’s podcast and his response was to cackle at how funny it is. He’s absolute a meat head piece of trash who does infinitely more harm to society then good

I urge you to dig deeper into what can happen to a society if there is censorship and no freedom of speech. That's something that liberals used to fight for. The ACLU used to fight for the KKKs right to march. Something changed along the way that liberalism is quite the opposite of that now. People think they can just quiet the voices of racism and that will make it go away. No, we WANT racists to be loud so they are easily identifiable and we can avoid them. Do you really want an authoritarian state that censors people and why do we always assume that will work in our favor?

 

Here’s what I’ll say positively about joe: I think he’s a hell of an mma commentator.

 

i do not consider myself to be "woke" at all. i have my beliefs and principles and i stick by them because i believe in them. its pretty simple. joe rogan and his frequent guests are, for the most part, the antithesis to the working class multi cultural movement i am interested in building across race, gender, and class. i am interested in bringing his casual every day listeners into our movement, dont get it twisted, but the man himself and the company he keeps? they can get fucked.

This. Joe Rogan is saying nothing and offering nothing anyone that has spent more than a small time online hasn’t seen discussed and debated a thousand times in the same facile ways. It’s like reading an “edgy” message board in 2003 but with more penis pill ads and, the worst part: Ben Shapiro’s voice.

 

Agreed, they’re probably my favorite metal band at this point. I’m proud I recognized him at 25x25 pixels on my phone.

some people and ideologies are too dangerous to be given a bigger platform in the name of “both sides”. A lot of right wing, rugged individualist, nativist/racist/sexist stuff is what he invites on his show and a large chunk of his listeners are people that are easily swayed by that stuff without the same exposure to opposing views.

 

Yes he is. Platforming those people is literally the definition of guilty by association.
