This is the best criticism of me ever:

 

There was one person who I would constantly battle on AP back in the day and they migrated over here for a while. Think they’re gone now. Every single opinion I had they’d chime in with the opposite in the most condescending manner ever.

although I was honestly a big overly sensitive baby the first few years I was on here. Then again I was 14 when I signed up so what do I know

 

I've either made peace with the people that gave me shit on AP or they've left this site entirely, which I can't say I mind. I'm sure I said dumb shit all the time, but I can't see an argument for that site not being relatively toxic to those that weren't a part of the clique.

To a degree yeah, like I don’t think anyone bats an eye at anything that gets talked about here anymore. Though looking through the music forum I am surprised how much of it is still extremely dominated by scene-heavy stuff

 

It’s more integrated now I guess. I think that’s always gonna be the case, given the type of music the site was built on

There are a lot of regulars here that I didn’t realize were holdovers from the ap days lol

 

I’ve been making lots of threads on smaller albums, artists not talked about much on here who are worth discussing, etc. and while some of them get lots of replies, others barely get any replies. It’s not just me, I see it with others who start threads for non-scene bands too. This website started as a website to discuss punk/scene bands so it makes sense but it’s a bummer a lot of other artists don’t get a ton of attention.

I kept my name but also registered a second account as just “Trevor” because I didn’t know what we were doing yet

 

I've been around since like 2003. I remember right when I started posting someone made fun of me for liking Something Corporate. Like ragged on me hard. Emotional 16 year old me stopped posting for like 3 years afterwards to avoid having his feelings hurt again lol

We talking old AP folks? I miss David sometimes. He taught a few dozen teenagers how to use the word "pretentious" and stanned the Mountain Goats every chance he got. Not a bad legacy.

 

A few months back a person on here told me that I am still as toxic as I ever was and I looked into it and found their old username and I genuinely don't remember them at all from AP lol
