The wild thing is, up until their posts today they seemed like a pretty okay new poster. Mostly talking hip hop and not having completely shit opinions about it. Shame!

To summarize the last few pages:

You (and pretty much everyone else in here) find what Kanye has done over the past 5 or so years harmful and dangerous and agree that he should no longer have a public platform to express those viewpoints.

You (and pretty much everyone else in here) find the idea of a billionaire to be harmful and reprehensible and think that their wealth should be redistributed.

You originally said that you wish the worst for Kanye. When called out, you doubled down and called us all bootlickers. Now you're walking that post back?


So what exactly do you disagree with everyone about?

I really wonder what happened to some of the AP lifers once the site went away. Why did they not jump ship with everyone else? What forum are they on now?

I don't know why it's so hard to see that you can say Kanye is a bad person AND also think it's a sad situation for mental health. It can be both!

The majority of the Trumpers and what have you when they go off about shit, don't have a very public mental health breakdown on a social media platform. So observing said public mental health breakdown doesn't mean that suddenly people are all for Kanye here, and even you've said you want his wealth redistributed and multiple people including me have said we want him dropped from Adidas/Gap! We want him to face some serious consequences for this shit. But recognizing mental health, very clear public mental health, is also another factor that still works along with this!

 

It's a fair question to ask me if I empathize with fascists because I said that I did not want Kanye West to hurt himself or his family?

I agree with all of this. But this site has a history of still supporting Kanye’s music when he’s had this rhetoric and change in views. I don’t think this sympathy for him is just out of the kindness of their heart.

 

I'm genuinely stumped that me saying "I wish no one would have to struggle with mental health" is me actually empathising with fascists.

 

I mean I personally can vouch that I stopped listening to him after ye, which might have been too late still but I've kept my stance on that for myself at least

 

i never even listened to ye or ksg but ultimately that doesn't matter regarding the conversation at hand.

 

Do you see how this is the exact opposite of your earlier post in the thread where you said "I actively wish the worst on [him]"? Do you understand that (I'd assume) everyone that you are interacting with is generally on the same page as you? Do you see how wild it is to draw the line at calling people bootlickers and shaming them at "I don't want him or his family to get hurt"?
