For someone like Kanye with his clear mental health issues I think the worst thing he could have possibly done was marry into a family that builds its empire on being in the public eye 24/7.

Kim has many faults but that isn’t one of them

but honestly at this point adidas has to drop him. he needs help and i don’t want to diminish the mental health aspect of this bc the video is very scary, but someone needs to show actual consequences for the things he says, which are pretty dangerous. adidas is pretty much the only person/brand that can “effect” him, bc it’s clear kim won’t say or do anything.

And that photo of Kanye hysterically crying honestly gives me chills.

  8. I understand the desire to give Kanye leeway, because I've given him so much leeway over the years, but at this point it's clear to me that he knows exactly what he's doing. I'm done with caring if he's doing well or not. He's a 43 year old billionaire. He can make decisions for himself, and he's making harmful decisions. I'm more interested in the wellbeing of the people he is harming. I'm more interested in the women who have had abortions who have to hear Kanye (and their shitty boyfriends who love Kanye) say shit like what he said yesterday. Kanye will ultimately be fine, but that is not true for the people he is causing direct harm to.

Many of my loved ones are diagnosed with bipolar. They are normal people who don't believe or spout the shit that Kanye believes and spouts. This is all ego.

  9. that's what I'm saying - Kanye has never faced any consequences for any of the actions or stunts he's pulled over his career.

but Adidas won't do that because his shoes are the only thing keeping adidas relevant

I think you massively underestimate Adidas relevance in the world. Yeezy has been massively profitable for them but in Europe, Adidas are THE sportswear brand.

The Kardashians are enablers. That whole family is all about what will keep eyes on them and their interests above all - good or bad publicity, it does not matter. People are talking about Kanye again, which in turn helps them as a brand regardless. I'm sure Kim does love Kanye, but her love clearly isn't the normal healthy kind that one of us are accustomed to. They may see issues with his recent behavior, but at the same time see opportunity to grow anyway.

Kanye running for president is win/win for them. If one day for some god forsaken reason he does win in like 2024, they all get to join the white house.

If nothing comes of Kanye running at all, then they can all just brush it off as another manic episode from "kanye being kanye" and reap the benefits of the publicity. It's a toxic culture.

  14. well sure but I'm just talking the USA because that's all I know haha - Nike routinely smashes Adidas in overall revenue at least in the US

i feel like adidas is behind only in shoes and college apparel. in actual clothing/workout stuff, they’re right there with under armor. honestly, nike might be third. but in shoes they’re definitely behind nike and their college stuff is the worst. ptsd back to wisconsin being an adidas school.

Seriously I feel awful thinking it and even worse saying it out loud, but at this rate it wouldn't surprise me at all if that's where this leads.

And then the media and fans will act all shocked and say "we didn't see the signs" even though the signs were smacking them in the face.

I'm not going to speculate on his mental health or his family situation or whatever. If he needs help, he obviously should get it.

But fuck him for spreading the hateful bullshit rhetoric that he has been a constant source of for the past 4 years. Dude has been going so far beyond the pale for far too long. It's one thing to want to see the implosion stop (if that is really what is happening), it's another thing entirely to attempt to excuse away the things he's said and done.

  22. Sure but Nike still makes more worldwide revenue than adidas and any growth adidas has made in closing that gap has more to do with Kanye West than those soccer clubs

Adidas or Nike? Which Retail Giant is Winning The Sneakers War?

adidas is third in market share behind Nike and Jordan - Kanye West is adidas cash cow and has made adidas cool and relevant

I think you're wildly underestimating the value those clubs have had on Adidas.

  24. No I’m not - they are incredibly valuable worldwide

but Kanye West made adidas cool and relevant - the ultra boost wasn’t cool until Kanye wore the triple white 1.0’s during a concert in 2016

Adidas would be fine financially if they dropped Kanye because of their strong football ties and sponsorships worldwide but they would lose that “coolness” and relevancy without Kanye

one of my best friends/groomsmen who played college soccer:

“Adidas is incredibly popular in the soccer world. Nike is still the “coolest” but Adidas probably makes better gear. I’m not as dialed in to that world as I once was obv but when I was in college, Adidas made better stuff. I still bought Nike tho”
