What does that stand for? I’m dumb.

 

I’ll make a legit $20 bet with someone Tom is back. Cut off is 2021 where we hear something?

I’m Canadian so $20 is less.

 

Doesn’t seem like there is anyone else. Mark, Travis, and John have all been working on blink material.

 

If on December 31st Tom isn’t back in the band, become a supporting member for a year. I’ll comp it if he is.

 

I really doubt any reunion is likely to happen here soon when they literally can’t play any shows or do much of anything for who knows how long.

 

I don’t think a reunion happens in the next few years, but those sound like good things for Tom haha. He’d get to say he’s in the band and do absolutely nothing

Technically, it is in the game. If you play the right chords, you can have whatever song you want haha.

 

No way Tom is back, hahaha.

And yeah, even my band doesn’t always write together. Only 2 out of 5 of us.

But I think someone like Matt (who the band chose because he was the “perfect fit” for Blink) would be more involved with the writing and recording. Why else would he be perfect for them? Surely not just for his live performances.

But if he doesn’t have a home studio set up, then I get it. But you’d think that if they really wanted him to record, they’d hook him up with some gear.

 

I do think Matt is pretty sarcastic on social media so I don’t take his comments too seriously or look too far into them. We’ve also seen this iteration of blink constantly record/scrap/record/shelf dozens of songs, so the fact that they have 3 songs recorded in July 2020 for an album that *might* come out towards the end of 2021 given the global situation doesn’t really concern me if Matt hasn’t been involved because I don’t really know how far these recordings will go.

 

Night mode is worth it in my opinion haha

 

I wouldn’t be surprised if Matt came out the quarantine/self isolation process with a bunch of songs written for a new Trio album, new Sekrets album, new Blink songs, new Heavens album, acoustic solo songs, something entirely new, and bunch of other art projects done.

Mark and Travis also have 10’s of millions of dollars to build a studio. Don’t think Skiba is in the same situation.

 

I only seen you were Brads One Man Band and thought you had a Paul Rudd - Living With Yourself situation going on.

This is the most likely case. I don't know about that "Quarantine" song they were supposed to release recently, but I would assume they're just in the "we need dozens of demos" stage right now. They most likely just want to have plenty of material ready to hash out once they end up in the studio together.

If they make some announcement about a new EP or something soon and Matt still has no idea, then I'll be concerned.

 

Hahaha do some of you really think Tom is back? He just signed a record deal with Rise for AVA, just put out their 3rd single, are filming a new documentary and are releasing a new album this year. Even before the pandemic Tom said AVA would be touring from 2019 to 2021. Now with a year lost you can probably extend that to 2022.

But even without all the AVA activity, Tom still wouldn't be back in Blink.

 

It seems like the internal drama between band members did not leave with Tom. But what do I know.

 

Honestly this thread is crazy the way it goes round in circles. I prefer the rankings to people reading way, way too much into a couple of Instagram comments. But even aside from them, even if Matt.Is.Out,, to me it's more likely they'd find another replacement rather than Tom come back.

Tom ain't coming back unless it's for a quick cashgrab of a tour or for a Hall of Fame gig (if that ever happens).

 

I think working on music separately makes total sense given the current climate. I do find it weird that they have a name and want to release a song when one third of the band hasn’t heard it. But I also wouldn’t be surprised that Matt has less saying in the band compared to Mark/Travis.

Matt not having a studio is weird but I also don’t see why they would lie about it.

 

If Matt went to work on music at Mark, Travis or John’s place, people would criticize this band endlessly for not taking self isolating seriously.

Major sections of the world are on pause to try and avoid the spread, so it’s not a shock to me that guy (who probably does have less say in a certain band) may be a little more checked on for a period of time. That’s not say he isn’t working on new material. As history has shown, he’s a pretty busy guy. Maybe a mental break was needed too. When things are safer and people’s work can resume in a more normal fashion, then you we may have a better sense if somethings changed (or Mark will just blurt something out).

 

I think the strangest thing is Matt commenting that he still hasn't heard the Quarantine song. I would personally be pretty bummed if my band was set to release a song and I hadn't even heard it yet.

 

I read that as him saying he hasn’t heard of the release day, since that was the question. I could be wrong though
