It's a good thing. Another strong female lead, tons of diversity, both in characters and locations, but all while in the SW universe, it's going to be great.

That shot where the tie fighter raises up in front of Jyn is absolutely phenomenal. I got chills. This looks incredible. The music was so good on this trailer. I'm really excited for the soundtrack on this one as well. It's crazy to think a composer besides John Williams will be working on a Star Wars movie.

To chime in on the Rebels season 3 chatter, that trailer was absolutely amazing. I'm really hoping to see Ahsoka back at some point, which from Dave Filoni's comments at the Ahsoka panel at Celebration, seems likely, but not sure if I need it this season. These characters have really come into their own and can completely carry a season by themselves at this point.

I know you guys are talking about the TV show, but is there any prerequisite to watch before watching this? Besides the first two trilogies?

Not saying it's his movie but with the timeline and plot of this movie we have a chance to see Vader in his prime. A couple scenes with him cutting down Rebels on the battlefield would be awesome.

this is exactly what we will see in the movie. Not officially, but we all know it's gonna happen. We don't need to see it in the trailers though. Especially if it's one scene, I would rather not see it already.

Kind of like how we saw every Joker scene in Suicide Squad in the trailers.

I was always under the impression that the events of this movie fall very very close to the beginning of A New Hope. Like maybe even just a few days/weeks before. So I don't know that we are going to see a Vader that is much more in his prime than he was in ANH.

I actually always sort of imagined that the last shot of the Rogue One would be Leia's blockade runner being chased by Vader's star destroyer.

REALLY REALLY like the new trailer compared to the first one. Love that it has zero YA Dystopia novel vibe like the first one did.

and, i mean, is alan tudyk ever a bad thing?

I'm not sure I got a YA vibe from the first trailer but I agree, this trailer is a huge improvement!

You really have to step back and appreciate how well designed classic Star Wars was/is. Are there ships in scifi that are cooler looking than the Millennium Falcon, the X-Wing, and the Star Destroyer?? I can't think of any.

Didn't know Riz Ahmed was in this. He's having a pretty good year with this, The Night Of..., and Jason Bourne.

What's the point of a Star Wars movie that looks nothing like Star Wars?

  24. wordzanddreamz

    and a millions screams...

saying that it looks nothing like a star wars movie is quite an exaggeration. In order for that to be the case you would need no death star, no darth, no at-ats, no droids, no imperial ships, i could go one for days...

Ooooh baby I can't wait. I love the fact that this is taking place in the universe but won't necessarily feel like another SW film. Gets me excited to see where else they go w/ these anthology stories.

The Vader shot was lame though. Felt so tacked on. I'd rather they show a quick glimpse of him during the trailer.
