I loved the first season of Dakr but haven’t gone back to seasons two or three. Haven’t really been in the right headspace to properly dedicate my attention and time to it.

 

Dark is good, too

 

I’m on episode 9 of Dark so I’m avoiding the thread but it’s awesome. Definitely a lot of info to keep track of but it’s one of the better shows I’ve watched recently.

 

I didn’t realize until recently that the official site has an interactive family tree and map that you can select based on where you are in your watch to avoid spoilers. I just convinced my dad to start watching a few weeks ago and that has been a huge help to him keeping things straight.

That was a pause for emphasis, lol. It absolutely is that convoluted. There are memes about needing flow charts and family trees and a pad and paper ready before watching it. I followed it pretty well but it’s a super demanding watch.

And I’m a dummy so it was hard for me to keep up and has kept me from finishing it (only watched season 1) but thought it was very good
My ex thought it was too confusing and didn’t want to finish it. Hence why I never have yet

When you have the brainpower to devote it’s absolutely worth it. Unlike some shows that sacrifice emotion or character development or visual style for the sake of a complicated plot, this focuses on every aspect together. And the soundtrack is great too.

 

I feel like you’re smart enough and skilled/experienced enough in watching ~film~ that it wouldn’t be THAT bad for you lol

I’m only speaking for me and that a family tree type map would work wonders. And you can’t rly explain why without giving away a lot.

I should post some of the texts he sends me while watching, lol. He loves to make up names or acronyms for people that are really not helpful. Like he calls one person “cop” when there are a bunch of cop characters but he thinks it means “chief of police” so therefore it must make sense to me. Every text is a little mystery.

I couldn't get past the horrendous acting so I stopped after the first episode. Just give me a documentary, not a reenactment.
