“But you had to go, I know, I know, I know” is my favorite melody she’s written I’m pretty sure, and the way she delivers it is just so heartbreaking. Feels like we can hear her becoming more emotional with each affirmation of “I know”

 

Unsurprisingly this is incredible, she's the very best

abut halfway in and already think this is WAY better than her last album

 

i feel this so much. when she sings that i want to die.

Fuck, haven’t listened yet because work. Trying to hold off until my record gets here today. I’m gonna lose my mind. I already know it.

 

As someone who didn't really connect with Stranger, this is fantastic.

 

This album is so haunting that this 88 degree sunny day doesn’t deserve it.

 

this is reminding me a lot of Laura Stevenson’s Wheel, not sonically or anything, but in the way that it’s totally stunning musically and the lyrics feel like they were ripped straight from my brain/soul. if you’ve never seen me post about Wheel before it’s like the most important album to me ever.

My vinyl copy won't get here until Tuesday... but both this and Petals for Armor are currently in the mail which almost makes it tolerable.

halfway through so far and while it feels like a big step up for her, i’m not quite “AOTY LOCK” territory yet haha. but i wasn’t as into SITA as others either. looking forward to finishing and spending more time with it. the title track rules.

 

just finished my first listen. I get big Sufjan Stevens - Illinois era vibes from halfway through "I Know the End" and then big Bright Eyes vibes at the end of the song.

this blew me away though. opposite of a sophomore slump.

 

The chorus of “Chinese Satellite” gives me the same feeling as like a disney princess song. I love it

 

yeah this is a big mood. it closes very nicely. “i see you” is the personal fave. the tape delay on the lead guitar line is kinda proof of something that she didn’t even try on the debut. it’s a small thing but a very cool touch. super earned.
