Man it is weird to pour normal beers again after 3 months of growler fills.

 

Guy at the beer store sold me one of their "Accident in Hubbard's Cave" and gushed about how great it was... it was not.

But I did have their Mocha Pot De Creme and thought it was good.

What is the earliest time it’s ok to drink?

 

I’m so stressed cause I’m moving an hour South of where I live in like two weeks and keeping my job currently until I find something in my new city but the industry is so in flux that I cannot get an answer because no one knows what is going to happen in a month and no brewery really has the funds or demand to hire more people.

I can commute an hour one way but at least like 1-3 times a month I’m going to be on the east side of Michigan and that’s like a 3 hour drive one way and not feasible. I just want to brew some fucking beer and get out of sales.

Back to Kalamazoo. My girlfriend got a promotion to a new store there so I’m trying to leave my current job but can’t do so until I have something lined up. Presidential brewing in portage just lost someone and during covid they had never been busier in their 15 months being open but I also haven’t brewed in five years. But I’d like to get out of sales for a bit and I’m waiting for the owner there to respond. Have a couple of people who know him so I’ve been getting help from them but he’s been busy so far.

Despite “trying” for a few years, beer never really clicked with me. I had some I drank and enjoyed to some extent, but I gravitated more towards bourbon and kinda camped out there for a while. That said, the last six months or so I’ve found myself going down the beer rabbit hole more and more. Here’s a new favorite of mine from Veil, NeverMore3.

It may just be a Sam Adams summer brew, but it’s still my first draft beer in months and damn is it good.
