Remember how bad the search function on AP was?

at least there's no fuckin babe/pornstar threads here

I miss being able to go back and see my old posts to remember how I used to be, but other than that not really.

 

The only thing I miss about AP is IWasACamera or whatever his name was. That dude introduced me to so much incredible music and literally helped forge my taste permanently.

I'm SO glad I can't go back and read how annoying I was back then.

 

i started posting on AP in the general forum in 2007 when i was a dumb young teen (vandalsandquinn) and very impressionable, and i think it taught me that being a douche to others on the internet was cool and funny - *narrator voice* it wasn't. it was a different kind of turbulent time on the internet back then. it was also weird to be a young girl in that environment, there was some kind of creepy behavior at times and i also felt like i needed to be a certain way to "fit in".

but! AP introduced me to some music and classics i never would have listened to otherwise, some of my long time favorite artists (ted leo and elliott smith!) were introduced to me at a young age thanks to the forums. there were also some genuinely cool people i "knew" who i talked to a lot and considered friends. i haven't been in touch with anyone for a long time but i appreciate AP for what it was, good and bad.

it seems like this community is nicer, more mature, and the site itself is better!

I had a comment on the scathing AP review of Good Charlotte's "Good Morning Revival" lamenting how I seemed to be the only person who liked the album, but now that comment only exists in my memory.

So no, I don't miss AP.

 

I will say I do miss some of the opinion and roundups, but if that’s what it takes for a more pleasant forum environment then I’ll take that. Tho I guess those things have also to a degree lost usefulness

 

One of my first posts (I was 13 or so) was complaining about 1. The review for the first Escape the Fate album (which was not super recent) and 2. That the new Three Days Grace album didn’t get a review
