Jayson Tatum had a really good two week stretch and now we all think he’s a top 10 player

 

Tatum was really good most of this season, not a top 10 player by any means though. If Giannis for some reason wanted out I would take Tatum and a pick, add on another pick or throw in Marcus Smart

 

The fun part is that Boston fans are saying no to that deal cuz they think Tatum is already at Giannis’ level

Tatum has been good this season for sure but the hype has gone off the rails

Tatum is really good. Tatum is going to be even better. He's really got so much potential and he's already really good.

i'd trade Tatum, smart, brown, Stevens, Ainge, Wic, the keys to the Garden, every fun Larry Bird story, Sam Adams beer, the Dropkick Murphys, whatever the fuck Steven Tyler is now, all the Italian food in the north end, the entire state of Connecticut which at times is new England and at times is not, and the trademark to ANYTHING involving the word Boston for Giannis.

 

Like the logic is so stupid. You lust after guys like Tatum because they COULD become Giannis. So why wouldn't you just skip the development phase and go straight to it if you could? Is there a ceiling for Tatum higher than two time MVP and leader of the best team in the East? Is there more he can become? Unless you think you have the next Lebron or Jordan, you do any single deal possible for Giannis and you don't think twice about it.

I don't even disagree with that. Like, Giannis is a top 2 player in the league with Lebron. It's them. No one else. And he's TWENTY FIVE! So why are you banking on someone who's only a little younger being better?

I personally don't think a deal exists where the Celtics can trade for Giannis. But if one did, and it took Tatum, i'd be livid not doing it.
