speaking of Strange Vacation, this just dropped

kinda weird smattering of bonus tracks, some but not all of the chasm b-sides and a bunch of the Boys of Summer "A Collection" tracks, some of which are marked (unreleased) for some reason. the version of Sing Crimson and Clover here is completely different from the old b-side I had besides the chorus, and Who Have I Been is the only track that I didn't have in my collection. wish January made it on here.

 

I dusted it off for the first time in awhile too. The second half especially was hitting me hard last night.

 

Title track is underrated

 

The last four tracks really fade to a perfect summer nighttime vibe. The "Mother Nature"/"Better Light" pairing is really wonderful.

 

Agreed! Although Virginia through Sky is my favorite stretch overall

Not sure about the background here but on a purely musical level the drumming on RFTS is incredible and I think the more recent atmospheric direction of the band mixed with the energy of RFTS-style drumming could be absolutely brilliant.

 

Yeah his drumming on RFTS & War Paint is genuinely interesting to listen to. He was far ahead of so many other drummers in the scene during that time.

 

Fingers crossed for a Tyler Minsberg return...
