Space bloody fascinates me. I wish there were space documentaries on Netflix or something. I’m in awe of it. Fucking love learning about planets. Specifically Neptune. Fav planet. Just wowwww give me all the space facts

Yeah please send me that video if you do! It was one of the weirdest things I’ve ever heard in my life, and the bright light did not help things. I don’t think it was an asteroid because it wasn’t like a streak in the sky, it was more like if someone turned on a big spotlight in the backyard and just left it there for a while.

I also sometimes hear animals that I can’t identify and those can be creepy noises as well. Definitely lots of screaming in the distance every now and then.

I would not have handled that well! Terrible sound. That’s way more intense and visceral a noise than what I heard. Mine was creepy because it just sort of hummed and hung there for such a long time without ever dissipating. I can’t remember if it just eventually stopped in a quick moment or faded away though.

I always find it rly fascinating to try and imagine the environments everyone here lives in

this is one of the closest groups of online friends I’ve had that lived in all drastically different places

anyway what made me think that is thinking how I live right next to a huge electricity thing (I know words) that buzzes constantly but sometimes louder than others which I suspect is related to humidity but actually have no clue lol

I also live right behind a major 8 lane highway that provides another kind of white noise
It is most noticeable to me when I am up all night and go from being very quiet to slowly being able to hear traffic start growing. But I don’t actively hear it during the day

I live in a relatively quiet area but there is the BART that goes by relatively closely and makes a creepy noise that a horror video game used as a sound effect.

 

On the first day of an astronomy class in college, the prof asked what we thought about space. Shot my hand up so fast to share the ending of Men In Black. Galaxies are all just marbles in a game on another planet.

Ha! I didn’t want to hype it up, but typing it out reminded me of just how creepy it felt. I wish I could describe the noise better. The way it kept growing and growing without moving into the distance was the weirdest part.

 

It’s just a noisy train to me haha. I don’t even notice unless I’m outside walking around. It’s not loud enough to be heard inside my apartment

sometime last week, at like 3am, I heard a weird thud coming from the basement every 10 seconds. i'm already convinced someone lives in the basement at night (like how a shark gets in the pool) so I was freaking tf out. after about an hour i figured out it was something with the hose outside with a new sprinkler set up.
