I just caught the end of the Oprah interview on discovery networks and tomorrow night they will be discussing possible ideas for reparations and where to go from here. It was a great interview, the last 30 minutes I saw.

There's so much explosive energy and unrest right now, and it's so incredibly frustrating that we don't have an actual political party to help direct that energy in an actual positive way. I shared that video of Angela Davis which does make me feel a little better just to see her seem actually excited rather than like "oh this is the same old bullshit." But one of my biggest fears is that the diffuseness of it will be our downfall more than anything. We've already seen several examples of grifters trying to act like activist leaders and nobody knowing any better until they do a deep dive on them.

 

Cool that Paula Jean Swearingen won her primary. Not optimistic about her chances in WV, but might go volunteer for a few days or something just to experience some of the state.

 

Having written about music online for way too long, I can confirm there is a shocking amount of people that listen to music and have no clue what it’s about or the politics of the music, or band members. It’s hilariously common.

 

The funniest example of that will always be:

 

So there was a huge “unannounced party” at the beach near me tonight. Clearly no social distancing at all, and it was after the beach was already suppose to be closed, so the cops were called in to break it up and send everyone home. But luckily I don’t think anyone was arrested.

Maybe Murphy shouldn’t have lifted outdoor gathering limits to 100 people and make people think they can just do anything. And certainly the fact that NYC has not opened their beaches gave everyone the idea to come down here. Ugh

 

Yesterday the comments on an Anti-Flag Instagram had people mad at the burned flag vinyl. I ... I dunno.
