Idk there was a poster on AP back in like 07-09 and i don’t remember her username but she used to talk about rape culture, and a lot of us (myself included) were condescending and dismissive towards what she said. It was a mistake a lot of us made, and history saw the things she was speaking to become mainstream. So don’t write off people discussing their experiences, because you’ll usually feel like an idiot later if you do.plus it’s just an anti-social thing to do.

 

Also Cincinnati chili is great. Every time i eat a Chicago hot dog, i think how i would rather be having Skyline.

 

Ohio is great you can even go to the movie theater here starting tomorrow! Just don’t count on a bed in the icu

I know this is a tired point but has anyone worked at a voting precinct? How does this shit happen? I get the structural issues with even getting registered to vote and finding a time to go vote, but comically long lines? How is THAT still an issue after fucking 250 years of this country?

Emotional labor as paid labor is actually a pretty interesting debate though.

 

I will have no skyline slander on people who haven’t tried it. If you’ve tried it and think it’s disgusting, fine. You’re right. But it is MY disgusting acid reflux-inducing future cause of heart disease and I will have some next week when i visit my fam in Ohio.

Do conservatives even try to justify it on any grounds? Like, all the precinct workers are volunteers, yes? So there’s not even an “economic waste” argument for them to fall back on

 

My go-to skyline order is this:

-order of chili fries
-two chili dogs (no cheese, the cheese fucks my stomach up)

best drunk food $5 can buy.

 

Reflection is still needed at some point to change the behavior, especially when it’s something that has been brought up many times before by multiple people. Like I’m sure plenty of people who participated in those discussions back then would still be dismissive and condescending now despite those issues being talked about regularly.

Oh no, sorry, I didn't mean to invalidate your personal experiences with sexism on this site, I shouldn't have used the word "probably".

To put it more suscinctly, it was surprising for me to hear about there being a specific problem with sexism on this site, and was wondering if other people have noticed this too.

I wasn't trying to question how legitimate your experiences are, I was wondering how oblivious I'd been to them.
