Right? Kids can talk about social media but i was there Gandalf, I was there 3000 years ago when we were all posting on forums, getting into flame wars and forming different cliques and padding our post counts.

All that sacrifice only to come home and be called “time waster” and be spit on by ungrateful parents.

 

my knowledge of the internet up until like 2010 was YouTube, a year of MySpace and LEGO news lol

 

I call it the pre-Obama internet since the Obama era coincided with the rise of smart phones, which I think made the biggest impact in widespread internet usage. I was still growing up during the 00s but even then there were clear distinctions between people who used the internet for just like iTunes and MySpace and those of us who spent countless hours on bullshit like Newgrounds

 

Can y’all imagine what Bush’s presidency would have been like if the Internet was as big as it is now?
