Just 2020 things

 

My dumbass (91% white) town is at it again: arguing non stop on the residents of town FB page because a few younger people are petitioning to finally change the town mascot from the “Tewksbury Red Men.”

So many older white people are outraged by this petition, saying it is not racist, and calling anyone who thinks it is the C word.

Imagine being over like 18 years old and still trying to fight for your racist mascot only because in 1982 you were a backup running back?

 

Well there's now precedent of shoving octogenarians and then walking over their bleeding bodies...

Who cares who that war monger would vote for. He's probably upset Trump hasnt started gulf war 3 yet.

 

my high school had a Native American mascot and I think the past few years they just kinda phased it out without acknowledging it or completely getting rid of it which sounds about right

 

that seems like a year ago!

 

I thought the town I grew up in finally changed the mascot a while back, but I just checked the website of my old high school and nope, apparently they are still the Grafton Indians. It doesn't say those words anywhere, but the mascot pops up right away:

This is the logo of a team near us. If you dare bring up that it’s racist or the name should change, they lose their mind. It’s insane this still exists.

Okay, Grafton Indians is very bad and needed to go a long, long time ago - but I can't believe people are still debating getting rid of Savages and Redmen as team names. Fucking ludicrous.
