It’s not naivety it’s hopelessness. The side with the military would crush the other side. Having a thousand people on my block with AR15s would still be a slaughter. The only hope is to have a wide scale revolt based on class that includes the military enough that most soldiers would break command. And we’re nowhere near that unfortunately.

 

Just giving advice, nothing more or nothing less. Do what you want with it/take it as you will. I don’t understand the stance of not trying to protect yourself. If that was our mentality during the revolutionary war, The brits would’ve won for sure cause I guess your answer to self defense is.. no defense?

 

I am too anxious for this thread but I have a lot of feelings about what’s going on and feel like this is the closest place to feel them out

 

Jesus Christ. I guess they released him now, but they made him spend the night in jail and the chief defended the officers' actions.

 

I mean I’m def thinking about getting a gun. I don’t think going out and going into the street to fight a war against the US military/police would end well, but in the event that some sort of collapse of our society does happen, id more like having it for protection against other people.

but yeah I don’t think we have to pretend we’re gonna get an army of left wingers to take on the US military and all their tech and equipment in any meaningful way. Scratch out a guerrilla existence of some sort maybe.

I attended a protest in Tampa yesterday. It was a peaceful march for much of the day and after that people took to the streets in their own way. I was in a an intersection that was taken over by protestors after cops had already set up there. People were literally dancing and holding up signs and chanting and not doing anything instigative. I started walking away to try and find my friends and just a few moments later cops started threatening people to disperse from the intersection before spraying them with tear gas and rubber bullets. I have multiple friends who were gassed and one who was hit in the head with a rubber bullet.
I’m going to continue participating in protests happening all week in my area. I’m so pissed

 

Why don't you just be honest. This fight for equality isn't worth your life.

That's a choice everyone gets to make for themselves. But don't hide from it.
