For what it's worth (and not much, I know), I have a police chief in the family who has never been afraid to fire his officers in a town with very low crime rate and he is going to host a zoom call taking a knee in solidarity.

I know it's a systemic issue affecting all police that truly needs change, but I feel that I know him well enough that it isn't just some PR thing

 

I'm confused, what's going on here?

 

Murder isn't the dealbreaker part of state sanctioned murder

 

So how much more violence against peaceful protesters is neccesary before citizins miltarize like the police.

A lot of peaceful people are going to need to get comfortable with a situation where the answer isn't peace.

 

Police aren’t expert marksmen. And there are fucking arteries in the leg that will bleed out. Biden is an idiot. This is complete and utter nonsense.

 

This is especially weird considering this death and many others have nothing to do with firearms.

 

It’s the proposal of someone who only has experience with policing from tv shows.

There is zero chance protesters have even 1/10000th of the equipment or money to match 1/100000000th of what the worst funded police in the country have. This would be one sided mass death.

No one in power is going to stop this for us. The threat of violence is all we have left. Peace didn't work for the last 70 years. How many more people have to die before y'all are comfortable putting your life on the line?

 

Fully leaving my work today and prepping my staff expecting that we will be looted tonight. Things are escalating in Chicago on the Northside, specifically on my street too. My Fortune 50 company can handle it though. Our jobs are safe. It sucks for my staff that relies on daily tips though (it really sucks that they even have to rely on tips to survive)

 

God I guess all those countries with dictators should just give up because theres zero chance they'll be able to stop the militaries power.

 

Yes but an event where literally hundreds/thousands die all at once is gonna be a lot more dead poor/Black people.

Not saying they shouldn’t keep fighting but also trying to start Civil War 2 is just gonna get a lot of people killed. Same reason why I mock the gun idiots who think they’re gonna take down the US government with an AR-15 and a thousand rounds

The civil war stuff is really overzealous people at Vox. I'm not saying this is just gonna end, but no way are the average protestors gonna start killing police officers. Especially since most protests are actually peaceful.
