Not trying to start a fight here but genuinely asking, why why can't you be mad at the injustices we are seeing and support these protests while also being mad that people who might be dying in a pandemic can't get to the hospital because the hospitals are blocked off?

LA cops on camera escalating a peaceful protest to protect the rich white people nearby:

 

i'm literally in awe watching the live footage on the news. like how the fuck did 2020 happen. im absolutely numb to tradgedy at this point.

Ambulance drivers know every single road in their city, get live updates for road closures and hazards from dispatch, and protestors will let EMT and people driving to hospitals through generally. Happened in Denver the other day one guy was let thru to go pick his gf up from the hospital

 

I hate shit like this because is it really that hard to provide the most basic proof of this if you're gonna let it out into the world as definitive fact? I saw other people earlier going off saying that they were going to cut off cell service in Mpls at 4pm without any evidence. Didn't happen, shocker

 

Having lived in both states, I can confirm that they are both bad.

 

Yeah it was really shitty of the protesters of the stay at home order to do that. Meanwhile these protesters have parted to let them through and cheered them on. The video is further back in the thread

I agree with SFguitar -- it's bullshit that the police would kill people like this for decades, thus giving people no option but to protest and riot

 

I truly can’t think of one time ever where someone died specifically because protestors were on the streets and an ambulance couldn’t get through. In fact most of the videos I saw yesterday involving ambulances usually showed the protestors moving out of the way to let them through.

I mean I’m sure it has happened at SOME point in history but, it’s far from a problem to worry about I’m sure.

 

Funny thing is I’m seeing right wingers all over Twitter faux outraged about the news not talking about social distancing and etc.

obviously some people arent wearing masks, but by and large it seems like most are, and obviously these are protests about an actual injustice in society, and made up complaints where the point of many of the protests was specifically not to wear masks or social distance. Like, there’s literally no question to which protests have more people wearing masks lol. WhY aRe ThEy CoVeReD dIfFeReNtLy

It’s really starting to bother me that people are finding ways to have ‘issues’ with these protests when they are legitimate and have every damn right to be doing this, but we’re oddly silent when a bunch of spoiled jackasses brought GUNS to capital buildings, blocked traffic, harassed healthcare workers because they didn’t like being at home and were crying about ‘mah rights!!1!’ During a pandemic.

Joe bob had to stay home for our health and he threw a fit. These people are rightfully pissed over oppression and literal murder, and people are trying to poke holes in this when they didn’t say shit about the other.
