thing is, last year a black cop was charged and convicted with murder for killing a white woman in her alley here. So we have proved that it’s possible in Minneapolis. But white cop against a black guy..who knows

The boardwalk and beach near my house is opening this weekend. And the reason we are basically the last boardwalk in NJ to open is because it is much narrower than most of the others in the state, so it is harder to social distance. It is going to be a very nice weekend so I am worried about the crowds and the fact that most people probably won't wear masks. I actually contacted the mayor and asked if he would consider requiring people to wear masks on the boardwalk, and he basically said he can't require them, but they will be recommending them and asking the businesses to sell masks. Ended it by saying "my hope is those that feel unsafe bring and wear their own".

This weekend will really be the test for NJ beaches since last weekend was rainy and cool. This weekend looks sunny with temps in the 70s and 80s. Could be bad. I already read several beaches that have sold out of season badges and sold way more than they did last year.

I want so badly to go to the beach, but I don't know that there is an option I'm comfortable with. Maybe Sandy Hook? I just have no idea what won't be crowded.

Sandy Hook might be okay since it's a big area so the crowds will be spread out. Not sure where you live but maybe Island Beach State Park? I know they do get busy in the summer but with the 50% parking capacity it might not be too bad, the beaches are decent sized and there are a lot of different areas for beach access.

 

Right now I'm staying in Bedminster, so I'm not close to anything lol.

I love Island Beach because they have the cutest foxes. They always try and steal my dad's fish.

My apt in Mpls is at the west edge of Uptown, at the intersection of Lake St/Lagoon and Bde Maka Ska Pkwy (can see the lake from my place) and protestors have just blocked off that intersection

 

They’re using safety cones that were already lying around lol
