That’s one of the 3-4 songs I genuinely enjoy from that album so sign me up.

wish they'd just say fuck it and give us an album of "No Frame" style songs, I've been waiting so long

If UO were to be less heavy I’d want them to just go hard at whatever it is and now half-ass it so I would totally be down for that

  9. I'm watching the Erase Me breakdown video, and during Hold Your Breath, Grant casually mentions that Spencer has a solo album ready to go. Not sure if that was mentioned on here yet.

also having watched a few of these i can't imagine how hard it would be to write music with tim lol. he's a genius, but man watching him try to communicate his ideas just mouthing the parts out seems impossible to me.

I had the exact same thought. A little music theory would go a long way.

  13. Lol samesies but then I remember being the exact same when I had a short lived band and it was so frustrating for everyone. I continue to be fascinated by Chris too, he's so essential to their writing process now.

I was surprised to find out Hold Your Breath was written by Spencer and Aaron at first too. It's one of my favorites... which go against the "both had too much input!!" narrative I guess.

I like "Hold Your Breath" so it's definitely not outside their range to just deliver a catchy banger without going full radio rock. just frustrating to me how little this Underoath album feels like it has Underoath playing on it, lol. that bit in the doc where Chris is getting excited about an idea and the producer is barely even paying attention to him makes me so sad

I remember when DTGL leaked and I downloaded it off limewire and I couldn't believe what I was hearing. It sounded like the heaviest thing ive ever heard at the time.

"Returning Empty Handed" into "Casting Such a Thin Shadow" is by far my favourite 10 minutes in their discog
