I think Radiohead is fine and I like most of what I’ve heard of theirs but I’m never drawn to them

This has always been such a lazy critique. What does that even mean? Why is it negative?

    edit:
Unless you’re referring to Radiohead being accessible then nvm

Bland dime a dozen psuedo-indie pop that’s played over the PA (public address) system of fast fashion stores in the mall like H&M and Forever 21. Idk what else you want besides that

I don’t feel that strongly about them tho, just not into it. Surprised they get such a positive critical reception that’s all

Their music isn't worth hating. A few really good songs but otherwise they're slightly grating and not much more.

Their dickhead lead singer almost makes me hate them but even that isn't worth it.

Yeah, doesn’t help that whenever I hear about them outside of this forum it’s because the lead singer is being a massive **** about something

I'm not a rabid 1975 fan but they make so many different genres of song that I'm not sure it's possible to issue a blanket dismissal of them all together. Like listen to People then Sincerity is Scary and then Girls and then Frail State of Mind and then You and Me Together song and they could be done by 5 completely different artists. I mean yeah you might hate all those songs granted but still. haha. They're hard to really box in.

I really love like eight 1975 songs and don’t feel anything listening to anything

I’ve always loved Radiohead’s more low-key/electronic stuff over their full band rock stuff.

Like respect for everything they’ve done but I rarely ever feel like listening to OKC/Hail and I love Kid A/In Rainbows/AMSP

Radiohead fans annoy me. Not you guys specifically, but man, there are so many Radiohead fans who it feels just blindly praise the band without any sort of critical analysis or insight into why they actually like it.

I reckon Thom Yorke could release an album purely of him imitating different animals and you'd find a great deal of Radiohead fans rushing to hail its brilliant and progressiveness.

(I may or may not still have some unresolved feelings towards the overall reception of A Moon Shaped Pool, which everyone seemed to love but I found boring outside of Burn the Witch).

Also, is it unpopular to say that The Slow Rush is awful? I genuinely don’t know. I’m certainly not a big Tame Impala fan, but I really couldn’t make it through this.

It's a great album, but a departure. Which is fine. It's much more low key clubby and beat driven than full band feeling, it's great for late nights or long drives

Awful is very hyperbolic but it's a big step down from Currents

It’s not really hyperbolic for me. I had to turn it off cause every song was so dull and I thought lyrically it was incredibly weak.

I feel like Slow Rush is more enjoyable as an experience. On a track to track basis though it is certainly weaker than previous material.
