I really wish these were the people dying instead of retail and healthcare workers who get exposed because of these idiots

 

In the past 10 days I’ve gone to my local park 3 times to walk around the lake to get some air and sunshine, I’m always wearing a mask. It’s not crowded but dozens and dozens of people. The number of people with masks I can count on one hand. Cut to over a month ago same park and a majority of people in masks.

 

Ugh I really don't want to live a 4th year in my apartment, but if the virus is still an issue in October when my lease is up (I'm sure it will), I can't see myself feeling safe around movers going in and out. All these idiots aren't making it any more hopeful.

Like, I'd feel so much safer about this entire situation if we could at least live in a place with fucking laundry >_>

Today was a crazy day here in Daytona. Somehow a block party of probably 1,000+ people happened on one of the main roads (A1A). A shooting happened at it and they locked down all of the bridges and you couldn’t enter the area. This all happened while I was at work and I work about 2 miles from where it all occurred. I’m going to try and find news articles.

As someone who lives in Maryland, it's not surprising to me that people are packing Ocean City... it's a pretty Trump-supporting area, let's just leave it at that

 

I know I shouldn’t be surprised but how are people so stupid?

 

How long, realistically, would you say it'll take to see a measurable increase in cases in an area that's loosened its restrictions? Like, factoring in how long it takes to spread, & be tested, & reported, when will I be able to point to more specific, recent, localized data, to help convince people around me to take the basic measures of wearing a mask, avoiding being w/in 6 ft of others, being careful w/ where you go & who you see, etc.?

Or, do I just gotta accept that I have to silently "follow my own convictions" while a lot of my friends, family, & peers do their thing w/out any concern for how their aversion to inconvenience affects vulnerable populations & the people like me who are trying to be careful?

 

I would think 2-4 weeks. With everyone going out over Memorial Day weekend I’m sure we will see a big spike in mid June
