apparently, Tim wrote Don’t Worry for Matty’s mom, Denise, during her battle with postnatal depression— which is what She Lays Down is about, thus tying it back to that song— and now I think I’m probably gonna be a sobbing mess next time I listen to that song.

Is that Phoebe's vocals being used at the end of What Should I Say as well? Sounds like her.

Will take some time to digest this project but enjoying first listen.

Excited for the first time I successfully deliver all the lyrics to I Think There’s Something You Should Know

The description suggests there are 14 other videos coming. Which, by doing maths, reveals that almost every song will have a video.

Anybody know if there are lyrics included in the liner notes to the CD or vinyl?

Tonight video didn't really do much for me so hopefully the rest are a bit more interesting

Also I’m soooo glad that’s the final artwork. Team no boot world for life

  13. The thing that frustrates me the most about this album is the sequencing - the 1975 intro should have been cut and the End should have been the opener. Also I’d probably cut birthday song from this (also annoys me that streaming is a separate track instead of just being tacked on to birthday song) or at least the last minute or so

The Birthday Song is one of my favorites on here :verysad:

  15. It probably has more to do with it’s length more than the actual song

Yeah the sequencing sucks. I took out The End, Streaming, Birthday Party and another song I can't remember and I enjoy the album a lot more. I split up jc2005 and Roadkill too because they just blend together for me. This is the first time I've done this to an album in probably a decade but I just really do not like the first half of this album as it is.

I already suspected I was, but I'm officially a True Believer with this band. Because I understand the mixed responses from critics, etc., but this is a masterpiece.

I don't wish The Beatles or Sign O the Times or London Calling was shorter and more focused genre-wise. When a great band is at the peak of their powers, just let 'em go and hold on.

My problem isn't really the length of it, I actually enjoy it the more it goes on. I just think it takes so long to get into a real groove. The whole first half of the album is peaks and troughs. I want to turn the album off before I get to Me & You Together Song which is where I think it picks up.

update: no lyrics in the CD as bought from Target, despite the fact that it includes a fold-out poster that could’ve easily fit the lyrics on it :(

What I did is I added the album and then didn't delete or change anything about it because who am I to change or alter somebody else's art to my liking.

Those are some super lofty comparisons that I just cannot get onboard with, haha. I think each of those albums is way more consistent and way better put together than this. It's one thing to make an album that's long and ambitious and far-reaching in terms of genre and influence. It's another to make an album that feels sloppily tossed together, or long for the sake of being long. I really genuinely think this album is the latter, and I know that's not a popular opinion in this thread, but there it is. I think there's a great, great record here that they obscured into a really hit-or-miss one by not being good self-editors. I think the last two albums are better examples of what you're talking about than this one.

The highs on this album are very high, but it's pretty scattershot. It takes a while to get into a good groove, so the back half of the album is way more interesting that the front half.

Still, very enjoyable album, just not an instant classic or anything.

I don’t want to change anything about this album and I’m not going to tinker with the track listing or whatever. That being said, respectfully, I don’t think we need to poke fun at people and how they want to consume art either
