Per my dad's town, they tell basically tell you to kill them. he drowned one in a garbage can once and thankfully it was too gut wrenching to do it to it again

 

i had a flying squirrel in my house a few years ago and I ended up drowning it in a bucket of water. it was terrible and not fun. it didn't help any that my now sister-in-law gave it a name so it was personal when I killed it

yes. and the reason was that i had a sticky trap setup and it got stuck on there, and it was jumping up and down like crazy trying to get loose and then began eating its own legs to get free

on the 1 year anniversary of it happening, there was a rain storm the day before and my trash can lid was open thus filling up with water. when i went out the next day to throw something in it I found a dead squirrel that had fallen in and drowned. she was haunting me
