I know it’s “against the rules” but I’m gonna throw all these nighttime jams altogether and make a nice mix with no intermittent acoustic strums getting in the way of my groove lol

 

There was a comment 20 pages or so ago about I Always Wanna Die (Sometimes) sounding like a end credits song. This entire album feels like this, like a cap to their career to me.

 

Just like you could for any of their records haha, truly a note on a conditional form

It’s amazing how much reviews haven’t even tried to tackle some of cooler tracks on here

 

People is such an outlier now. I guess it will still work as a literal wake up call to pay attention to the album and then to wider issues. But it does stick out compared to the rest.

 

the flow here is really interesting. every so often I'll be like hmm this is not really hanging together but then it'll suddenly click and I'll understand the shape it's taking. then it'll fall apart again

 

But then again, it sticks out the same way Too Shy does. And Roadkill. They just did whatever they wanted on this record and that's what gives it that "mixtape" sort of vibe and I'm here for it.

 

Yeah and then by the end you have no idea where you are. The record is literally as manic as this lockdown.

 

Yeah good point, I realize my complaint is weird because duh including curveballs is what they've always done.

That said, I just finished Guys and it doesn't even feel like this entire experience was 80 mins long. In terms of vibes, this album reminds me so much of Coldplay's Ghost Stories in the best way possible.

I want a whole doc series watching George work on this shit - layer by layer

 

I like me and you so much more lumped in with all those other similar jams - that distinct section of the album was as close as they got to a full cohesive experience I think

 

I'm so late, but I need to dive into Bon Iver's music. I see those comparisons a lot.

 

Ohhhh Nothing Revealed/Everything Denied is absolutely my shit.

 

I feel like bagsy was a missed op. Like why go inaudible? Coulda been a pretty song - the melody is there.

 

22, A Million is a top five album of all time.
