Fuck I’m so impressed and was a bit worried after seeing a few early reviews. Getting in the home stretch in finishing it and I’m so excited to keep listening and dig deep and discover more about the different songs. There was maybe one track I felt was not the vibe (upon first listen, could be subject to change. never know) but for 22 songs those are good fucking odds.

 

What Should I Say sounds like the best Francis and the Lights track I’ve ever heard.

Also when matty was describing this as a “night time record” I’m like I’m not sure what that means. But now I see lol

In a recent interview that I think was recorded pre-pandemic (https://twitter.com/TodayFM/status/1261341321740025861), Matty actually says The 1975 were at some point planning on disbanding or putting this project on pause right after NOTES tours. I heard somewhere Matty said he was gonna produce a George solo record and George was gonna produce Matty’s. But now quarantine and shit happened, things changed, and the next 1975 record already has a title.

Did George do the EDM stuff on this record? He should totally try his hand in writing a score for a movie

Hot damn. That was a good album. Nothing Revealed / Everything Denied and Tonight (I Wish I Was Your Boy) are early standouts for me but I enjoyed it so much.
