The Tom Petty in me just loves Jesus Christ.

 

All I know is, this is going to take several listens to get an accurate read on, but immediate impression is 100% they delivered - it's the band firing on all cylinders

 

Interesting. That stuck out to me as the worst bit of sequencing up to that point in the record.

 

The End makes me feel like I just beat a really hard Final Fantasy boss and I feel triumphant as shit.

Are we talking better than anything they’ve ever done in y’all’s opinion? Nothing thus far has beaten the EPs for me, so I’m really hoping I adore this one. Love the other albums but the EPs will always have a special place for me.

The 1975 hasn’t made a bad record yet. They come off as absolutely unstoppable to me right now. Every song on here feels like a genuine risk for them and yet also right in line with their ethos. Fucking how

I audibly gasped.

 

This sounds nothing the EPs. I'm not even halfway and these songs have gone through at least 5 different genres of music so far

 

What's tricky in doing this is if it's valid to include the emotional impact in your evaluation - if you do that, of course the EP's will win over this for now. It's going to take some time I think

Was worried about the whole 22 tracks thing, but I'm very okay with really pretty instrumental tracks thrown in here and there. They're really relaxing.
