I cannot believe you’ve listened to nothing from this. So impressive.

Not yet! I held out because I really regretted listening to the pre-release tracks on ABI.

I’m just now realizing I have no idea what the artwork for this is. Is it the original yellow one they showed when People came out?

People and The Birthday Party are probably the two biggest departures from what they’ve previously done.

I figured that - I just wanna see how they pull off sequencing all these songs together on a long-form album.

To me that's one of the most interesting things, I'm excited to see how that works for Notes. Intro into People is fantastic though.

I fucking love people now. Birthday has grown the most on me.

I’ll never forgive them for not secretly re-recording a new legit intro for the actual release...at least have the spoken word end with Greta dramatically pausing and then : GO DOWNNNNNN

I guess I am just nervous, cause I always thought that Love It If We Made It and and Be My Mistake should have been switched on the trackless and that HTD is an amazing song, but that the intro makes it a weird placement as track 4.

Funny, I actually felt HTD to Love It If We Made It was one of the best sequencing parts. It a few hours and listens for me to 'get' ABIIOR as being 'yo this is the 1975 and they do what they want'. Inside My Mind to It's Not Living to Surrounded by Heads and Bodies never sat right with me at first.

That is so interesting, cause Inside Your Mind->Always Wanna Die is where the album really finds its sequencing groove to me. GYAT is one of my favorite songs, but that back half of the album is just so strong for me.

For me, all three of their albums split into three parts pretty nicely

Yeah while I generally consume them all as whole albums they actually do flow like three distinct parts - certainly moreso with each release. I’m not sure if it’s just a result of the length of them or my attention span or simply the sonic nature of things

It is really strong I agree, I think the upbeat tempo of It's Not Living is what threw me off since the tempo doesn't pick up again until Always Wanna Die. I Couldn't Be More In Love & Always Wanna Die are the best two tracks to finish a 1975 album IMO.

Personally Notes feels like it's shaping up to be ILIWYS 2.0, but with ABIIOR's more extreme genre hopping.

Until they make that straight up 38 min 11 song, cohesive record he talked about I’m pretty whatever on their sequencing choices. Everything seems incredibly random to me to be honest lol

There’s no way it has the same energy as ILIW...he’s just not in that state mentally anymore I don’t think. They are a more fun band when he’s high, sadly.

I think of ABIIOR as two parts splitting at Man Who Married a Robot and Inside My Mind, I'd be interested in knowing how you split it into 3? The first two albums I find are easier to split since it's where the instrumentals are.

Yeah I wasn't thinking about the energy, that being said People and Too Shy have a lot of energy. I was thinking of the expansiveness and album length, as well as more instrumental tracks (Which I personally love).

I'd say like track 1 through Be My Mistake, then Sincerity through Inside Your Mind, then It's Not Living to the end.

But I also agree with the posts above that it splits in half nicely at The Man Who Married a Robot

    Sending my love

I love all three albums, but during the listening party yesterday it reminded me that ABI has the strangest flow of the three records for me. Might be my favorite album by them but I do think the back half struggles with too many slow songs. That record needed like 1 more upbeat/pop song. It’s Not Living kind of sticks out like a sore thumb as track 11. Surrounded by Heads and Bodies is probably my least favorite song by them and the weakest on the record. Mine is good but at that point I’m just craving another faster song. I Couldn’t Be More in Love and Always Wanna Die are a fantastic way to finish the album, but it’s just strange sequencing. I’m not sure how to fix it though.

This one is going to be weird with so many tracks.

Heads and Bodies took a while to grow on me and I really only listen to it when I put the vinyl on, but I like the track quite a bit.

Least favorite 1975 song for me is absolutely The Man Who Married a Robot haha

Yeah this is what irked me about It's Not Living at first. I think you could fix it by removing Surrounded by Heads and Bodies and Mine altogether. I think It's Not Living into I Couldn't Be More In Love and end would work well. Over time I've gotten used to it though, but this and stronger singles on ILIWYS puts ABIIOR at number 2 for me (number 3 if you include Notes).

You guys are crazy for removing Surrounded. ABI is my favorite record overall. The only misstep is Be My Mistake. That could literally never have happened and it wouldn't take a single thing away from the record. I guess I'm just nervous about NOACF feeling more like a playlist than an album.
