Just finished the book, right when we’re in the maybe the worst moment possible for me to be excited for literally any unreleased movie.

Me every time a media outlet posts a new photo from Dune instead of a trailer:

 

Watched Prisoners for the first time last night.


Damn

 

That or Enemy is my favorite of his at this point. I love Arrival, too. The rest are okay.

 

......but Bladerunner

 

Blade Runner, Incendies, Enemy, Prisoners, Arrival, all fantastic imo.

 

From a production standpoint, Blade Runner 2049 is practically perfect. Direction, cinematography, score, etc...

But it didn’t connect with me emotionally so I enjoyed it but don’t need to return to it for a third or more times.

 

Do not like Incendies at all; LOVE Blade Runner, Sicario, Arrival and Prisoners.

 

I mean they’re all good but Sicario is clearly the best

Blade Runner was one of the most deceptively emotional films, and is much more human than I ever expected a sequel to be

 

I think a big part of it for me was that Her touched on quite a few similar themes that BR2049 did but did it five years earlier and, in my opinion, did it much better.

 

BR2049 is still a really good movie, to be clear. It just didn’t grab me like I was hoping it would.

 

Her was my favourite film of last decade so touching on similar, but still much different, themes wasn't really an issue. Definitely the biggest emotional connection I've had to one of his films.

 

there’s an argument for enemy, sicario, arrival and BR2049 all being his best. he’s fantastic.

 

BR2049 is his best, easily, but he has so many fantastic films under his belt you can’t really go wrong.

 

I’d probably say Arrival but Sicario is up there too.

 

I've only seen Arrival & BR2049. At one point I would've said I liked Arrival more, & maybe that'd still be true if I revisited it, but last time I rewatched BR2049, I liked it even more, so idk.

 

Sicario has one of the best scores of the past decade imo. RIP Jóhann

 

You know, it makes me sad that Jóhann isn’t with us anymore. You know that if he was still alive, he’d totally be doing the score for this and man, how fucking cool that would’ve been.

 

I haven't seen BR but:

Arrival
Sicario
Enemy
Incendies
Prisoners (is not good)

 

You didn’t think Prisoners was good? Huh
